Re: Mark Lawrenson

Cnut! Nuff said!

After Crouch did his robot dance, one of the presenters of football focus tried to get Lawro and Garth Crooks to each do the dance for a £300 charitable donation. Crooks did his! Lawro refused!

Well said Muze. I was texting Beanie during the match saying how his commentary made me want to beat him to death with a funny shaped stick.

Can't really put my finger on what was annoying me apart from the fact that he's a complete wanker.

Re: Mark Lawrenson

Aye, a tube of the highest order...Motson too.

Mick McCarthy was much better earlier :

MM: 'He should have headed that in.'

Commentator(after replay): 'Infact he's 'faced' it...'

MM: 'Well then he should have faced it in.'

Top man - also getting all French on the commentators ass and describing a particular performance(can't remember what) as a 'Debut Catastrophique' - still in a thick Yorkshire accent

That was about his own debut for Lyon Beanie, which makes it even better cos he can take the piss out of himself.

Got to admit I've never liked the sour faced cunt as a manager but as a comentator he's shining at the moment in the middle of a big pile of steaming shite.

What's the fuckin idea the BBC's got of sticking a couple of useless cunts who can't even speak English on the panel.

That's right, Lawrenson and Hanson.

Re: Mark Lawrenson

3 minutes in, realising it was "The Motty and Lawro Show" again I made full use of the BBCi service for the first time and switched to the Radio 5 commentary. Two relatively unknown commentators and Martin Jol as the expert, who was excellent, very straight talking and took no pish off the two commentators. If they said something he disagreed with then he said so, straight out, no snidey talk.

It was a bit different in that they had to describe what was actually happening on the pitch for radio listeners therefore you actually had commentary on the game and not....well you know what Motty likes to talk about.

Last nights Italy Ghana game was the last straw for me and Motty, would rather have it muted than listen to him again. He had a hardon for Steven Appiah for most of first half and actually seemed to think Ghana were the better side. They did ok for first 20 mins or so but Italy were pretty much in control from then onwards.

Lawrenson doesn't help in that he has a very annoying squeaky voice, the sort of pitch that only dogs can actually hear. If only that was actually the case we would all be happy.

Switched back to BBC at the very end to hear what panel had to say and the first thing I hear is Alan Hansen saying "Well that was just like England"...............FUCK OFF!!

He really is a traiterous cunt as well, harping on at Saturdays game about how it made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and you feel proud to see the Frankfurt stadium bedecked in St George's Crosses......aye, it may well do so if your English and to be fair to England they did have a great support across there but Hansen is supposed to be Scottish, the fucking arse.

Rant over, time for some prozac and bed.

My mate and I had the 5 live folks on too and I made the same comment re Jol - it was refreshing to hear. Every time the first commentator made a comment, Jol would fire right back with: 'Well not really because x y and z.' Cue a second or two of silence and the commentators would sheepishly get back to the game. It was very much an 'I'll do the opinions if you don't mind sunshine(cos yours are shite.)'

Re: Mark Lawrenson

Who was the commentator? Please let it be Alan Green, arrogant twat needs bringing down a peg or two.

And I can't stand Mark Lawrenson either. Can you believe he actually seems to dislike Gillingham? Something to do with his time at Preston, from what I can make out. We tended to follow Preston around the football league for some time, going up when they went up and down when they went down, so we were always in competition with them.

Re: Mark Lawrenson

Nah, wasn't Alan Green RC, some Irish bloke called Conor and can't remember the other ones name. Both were ok, did what was expected of them but Martin Jol, as Beanie said as well, was good to listen to.

Re: Mark Lawrenson

Isn't Lawrenson gay? I always thought he kept his job at the politically correct, equal opportunities, BBC as a result.

Why else would they continue to employ such a retard who stopped playing the game 20 years ago?
