He said when he dies during his spell as Celtic manager he wanted on his Gravestone "Andy Goram broke my heart"
So true aswell as if it wasn't for Goram he could have went on to become a great manager. Brought in some
absolute quality like Di Canio.
I hear many guys die and they are praised for being good men etc when i think half of them were
absolute cnuts but Tommy was a great guy.
Actually heard a story about him from my manager a few weeks ago when we were discussing him being ill.
Tommy was scheduled to do an end of season talk at the annual dinner/dance my team has every year.
It ended up the league was going to the last game of the season so everyone thought Tommy would bail seeing as it was the eve of a huge day for him.
But props to him. He travelled up, gave his talk then went home that night again all the way from Glasgow and 3 hours driving back and forth. Shows what a top man he is.
I will always remember him for his Celtic manager spell as this was at the height of me growing up and was when i was into my football the most. Had a great footballing side and unbelievable that they went the whole season losing only 1 game and still couldn't win the league.
Celtic man through and through and an
absolute legend at the club
RIP
