You're having a laugh here?

I remember reading last week that Juventus were interested in signing Harry Kewell, who is on a free come the summer. We certainly dont want to keep him - Aussie waster! Its unusual that a player, out of contract in the summer, doesnt sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. If a player is hot property, you'd think clubs would be chomping at the bit to sign him - but that's by the by. I suspect the recent links with Juventus are nothing more than Harry's agent trying to drum up a bit of interest and trying to accumulate column inches for his player.

Anyway - I read this story today and it makes me laugh. Man U interested in Harry Kewell? Are we in 2001 again or something? This takes the biscuit I am afraid!

Manchester duo want Kewell

Manchester rivals United and City are set to cross swords as they join the crowded field of clubs chasing the out of contract Liverpool winger Harry Kewell.

United manager Alex Ferguson has been a long time admirer of Kewell and has made several previous attempts to bring the left sided player to Old Trafford. With a dearth of quality left sided players in the Premier League, Ferguson sees Kewell as an experienced replacement for the veteran Ryan Giggs.

Injuries may have marred Kewell's time at Liverpool but Ferguson is not deterred. Liverpool have a poor track record in the medical department whereas United believe its medical department and its ability to take care of its players is a key factor in the clubs success.

Ferguson has a few rivals to contend with if he is to land the signature of Kewell. There is a long line of clubs interested in the player including Italian clubs Juventus, Inter & AC Milan, Spanish clubs Sevilla & Valancia, English clubs West Ham, Portsmouth & Everton and Scotland's Celtic. But the club of increasing concern to Ferguson is Sven-Goran Eriksson's Manchester City. United have lost only four games this season with two of those being to arch rivals Manchester City. With City becoming an increasing thorn in the side of United, Ferguson is unlikely to be pleased if City are able to snare the talented Kewell.

Its not often that a player of Kewell's quality is available on a free transfer. Kewell's recent history adds a large risk factor and significantly caps his value. This cap gives the smaller clubs a fighting chance of making a competitive offer.

Liverpool have spent an estimated $A45m on Kewell in his five years at the club. Wherever Kewell does head, his new club should be pleased that Liverpool's $A45m of pain will be their free transfer gain.

I think Kewell's agent must have written that piece.

He's fuckin garbage and he has been for about three years now. He wouldn't get in our school team.

Yes it is. League 2 clubs release them on a regular basis.

If he wants to save his pride he'll fuck off abroad rather than face the humiliation of playing for a mid table CCC team.

Been linked quite a bit with Celtic.

Have to say it is saying something when i wouldn't want him at Celtic Park. Overpaid waste of space these days.

Never see him play well for Liverpool when i watch them.

  • Was just thinking there, the best type of "fuck off " is the following; You`re playing astro, 5 a side, someone shouts "handball" and the "fuck off" response is fucking class.
