Former Great Britain captain Mike Gregory has died after a four-year battle with a neurological disease.
The 43-year-old former Warrington loose forward had been suffering from a form of motor neurone disease and had been confined to a wheelchair for 12 months.

A great player , gave a 100% every time he went on the pitch , he had the makings of a great manager until he stepped down through illness...

Aye heard this yesterday Wins and its sad indeed allthough not expected as he's been ill for a while now, The hardest bit to believe is seeing a man so fit and young degenerate into a skeleton and unable to do anything for himself.

Motor neurone is a cruel disease that i wouldent wish on my worst enemy, can't think of anything worse tell the truth as once you get to the stage when u can't even top ureself you start to live like a vegetable allthough you still have ure marbles.

Also had some sad news at work today, A bloke who i work with dropped dead last night after a massive heart attack while playing table tennis, (I was also waiting for the punchline that never came), he was 64 but pretty fit for his age and played league table tennis at a pretty high level, smashing bloke for a Bolton fan and was Bright as a button when i was speaking to him yesterday afternoon, Still can't believe he's gone as there was no illness or signs of anything wrong just dropped dead.

He was a character and would do anything for you and allthough a pain at times as he could talk the hind legs of a horse he'll be sadly missed, RIP m8.

Sorry to hear that slick mate , it's those that are in shape that die early, and 64 is early these days , that make us think about our own mortality.

Those brain clots have me terrified .

I remember Gregory vividaly from that great Wigan era , as tough as they come , he died an undignified death but at least he made something of his short life , more than most of us can claim to have
