Major League Soccer

So, that Beckham bloke has moved to America then to ply his trade. No doubt sales of LA Galaxy shirts will go through the roof and his media whore wife will be doing her upmost in order to get her mug in every celebrity rag around.

There has been so much talk about Beckham the brand, Beckham the legend that Beckham the player appears to have slipped under the radar.

Does anyone know when Becks is due to make his debut for the Galaxy? What channel, if any, can we watch MLS on in the UK?

I understand their season is already underway but havent got a clue how the Galaxy are doing and in actual fact I dont know how MLS works as a league system. I presume like Baseball, there are Eastern, Central and Western leagues with a play-off at the end?

It's a whole new ball game......

Re: Major League Soccer

Cheers Andy.

I subscribed to Setanta at the weekend for the Hatton fight. I discovered yesterday avo (after watching Hurling and Gaelic football all day) that I also get access to the NASN.

I presume these soccer games are shown on NASN? Only I cant see any sky coverage for them....

Re: Major League Soccer

AFU - Get yourself over to Major League Soccer: Home: The Official Site of Major League Soccer and buy yourself a subscription to the seasons games. Its around $20 (or it was last season and im sure its the same this one) to view around 80% of the games until the season finishes. Very good value deal imo.

I think Becks first game is the game against Celtic in a friendly and his first competitive game is against Toronto. Off the top of my head but i think thats right.

Just like other American sports but with there being only 2 leagues and it goes into playoffs etc at the end of the season.

LA havent started at all well and have a game or 2 in hand on a few teams which should put them into contention but they cant really afford to lose too many more games.
