Allardyce to Newcastle

Been confirmed this avo. It will be interesting to see whether Phil Gartside takes legal action against Sam. Initially Sam left to take a break from football, therefore his contract was anulled and Bolton received no compensation. They might get a bit shirty now he has jumped straight into a job he had been tipped for in the first instance and Bolton receive nothing for their boss.

Incidentally, doesnt Phil Gartside look like the midget from Twin Peaks

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

Quite a good topic here..

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A22715101

..to paraphrase the article ....Newcastle fans are under the misguided impression that they are a big club when in reality they never win fuck all so they have no right to expect instant success.

Think that just about sums it up. I reckon big Sam could be the one that finally wakes the sleeping giant.

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

That boy Gartside is a cock. His comments when Allerdyce left, along the lines of Sammy Lee will be a better manager than Big Sam was cos Sammy Lee played international football as a player.....were just utter shite.

If he was/is a better manager then why not appoint him a few years ago and empty Big Sam then you tit?

Geordies are still living on memories of the excellent Keegan free flowing attacking football side. Unless you have an exceptional set of players you can't play like that any more. Allardyce will have them playing effective pressing football soon enough. I reckon Henrik Pedersen is a nap for the left back slot.

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

Starting with a bit of a clean out...

Defenders Titus Bramble, 25, and 31-year-old Australian Craig Moore have not been offered new contracts. Czech keeper Pavel Srnicek, 39, and left-back Olivier Bernard, 27, have also been shown the door.

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

No suprise there. Moore and Bramble simply arent good enough and Bernard has barely played since he came back in January...

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

That should get the fans on big Sam's side for starters. Bramble is the worst defender in the Premiership since Gary Breen (who, incidently, continued his long tradition of major fuck ups by costing his side two goals at the weekend - there is no level low enough to make that bloke look good it appears).

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

No coincidence that Newcastle Season Ticket holders are receiving their renewal letters this week. Last year they were promised Beckham, the year before it was Rooney, the year before that it was Ronaldo.

Shepherd might be a right cunt, but he is no mug.

Re: Allardyce to Newcastle

Gartside will push for every penny he can get out of Newcastle as he did with Hamman when he Joined City last yr, he's a thrifty fella and hence the reason he loved Big Big Sam as he could run the club on a shoestring, Anelka was the exception as Allardyce had started to get itchy feet and he needed to dip into the funds to show his backing but don't be surprised to see Anelka moving on now he has gone.

Sammy Lee is on a hiding to nothing and must have the worst job in the Prem as the only way now is down, theers no way Bolton can compete with the top 4 in the Prem but there are plenty of bigger teams on their heels.
Bolton have gone as far as they possibly can and Allardyce will be a hard act to follow.

As for Shepherd i just think he's a jonah as nothing seems to go right for him but he does put his money where his mouth is, he's due a break but i don't think he will get it with Alladyce at the Helm.
