{league:,,11}Due to bet 9 on this thread, where I expressed my opinion on accumalator betting, I feel the urge to put my money where my big gob is and give it a go.

I'm going for a four team accas and the hypothisis is that it is better to place bets individually and take withdraw a piece after every victory than to just place your bet and cross your fingers.

Day one is Saturday and I'm starting with .....

1. Newcastle United v Swansea 20 points on betfair to return 36.91

if it win's then I'll take out my 20 pts stake and the second bet (or bet 1.B)will be 16.91 points on Aston Villa to beat Spurs at 6/4 with boylesports which will return 42.48 points if it wins.

I would then be putting 20pts into the profit drawer and staking 22.48 points on bet 1.C which would be the draw in the Everton Liverpool game on Sunday - odds to be decided.

Bet 1.D is Chelsea to beat Arsenal, also at odds to be decided (as there's plenty of time for them to change between now and Sunday)

What if you lose the first bet?

Sorry mate I completely forgot about this thread and missed ur question. if I had lost the first bet my bank would be down by twenty points and I'd start again with bet 2.

As it is, the first bet won and the second leg lost. using this plan means that I recovered my stake from the winnings of the first bet which means I haven't lost anything whereas I would be 20 pts down if I'd just placed the acca.

As it's supposed to be a comparison of the two staking plans I should have stated a starting bank. In order to make enough bets to make it a decent test I'll go for a starting bank of 500 points - 25 bets

Result after bet 1 is that my staking plan is level at 500pts compared to what would have been 480 pts

bet 2 will start with the Preston game tonight and encompassing the midweek cc cup games but I will need to see what the likely line ups are for those first
