Folks, normally bet on Footie (Usless but passes the time). Mate making a few quid on roulette recently though. Bet on black. If it loses, double bet and keep doubling until you hit black.

e.g. £2 on black - Loss
£4 on black - Loss
£8 on black - Loss
£16 on black - Wins

Spent £30 but Return is £32.

Small margin but a profit is a profit. Tried it using £0.20 for past 10 mins and made fiver out of it. Highest i had to go was £12.80 after hitting 6 reds in a row but as i said before, you have to hit a black sometime.
I know theres a Zero on the board which could scupper the plan but odds still seem ok?

Anyone else tried this or any opinions?

I think that your going lose all your money and lots more besides Irish Gael. Playing games of luck is just down to luck and you can't beat them.

How much will you need to have in your pockets IG if you get 12 reds in a row?

The odds of losing at roulette are q = 20/38 = 52.6316%. If you play a total of 6 spins, the odds of losing 6 times are q6 = 2.1256%, as stated before. However if you play more and more spins, the odds of losing 6 times in a row begin to increase rapidly.
In 68 spins, there is a 50.3% chance that you will lose 6 times in a row at roulette.
In 150 spins, there is a 80.6% chance that you will lose 6 times in a row at roulette.

I used to play on the Roulette tables (occasionally) , the most i ever see was 8 reds on the trot but my mate reckons he's seen 13

There are several million reasons not to do this. Just type Martingale into a search engine and you'll find them.

The main problem is that if you lose just 8 times in a row (which will happen at some stage) you are £510 down and your next bet is going to be £512. So effectively, your going to risk £1022 to win two quid.

Thing about whether you would really, really be prepared to do that , knowing that your next bet will have to be £1024, making a total of £2046 to win that two quid.
If the answer is yes then there really is no point trying to talk you out of it.

There is no doubt that you would make a small profit in the short term but then you would have to give up or risk almost certain failur.
