The N.T.P.F system aka sunbeds and sandals system
This maybe premature , oooeer , but I'm looking into a nice system involving teams with nowt to play for.
Criterea: 1. teams with something to play for playing teams who cant be relegated , no chance of lay off/europe 2. Teams must be in top half of current form league (8 games) Simple so lets prove/disprove the myth League 1: 24 Mar 15:00 Cheltenham vs Leyton Orient 8/5 24 Mar 15:00 Swindon vs Southend 8/5 24 Mar 15:00 Walsall vs Crewe 4/6 24 Mar 17:45 Swansea vs Bristol Rovers 4/7 League 2: 24 Mar 15:00 Darlington vs Morecambe 4/6 24 Mar 15:00 Lincoln vs Hereford 5/4 That'll do for now , any more I may have missed are gratefully accepted £10 singles |

Re: The N.T.P.F system aka sunbeds and sandals system
Love it Keem. Great idea.
Not sure why you've chosen just the top half of the form league as a criteria though. Unless you include them all, it's not going to prove/disprove the myth is it. For example, logic would say that Mansfield will be scrapping like mad today to avoid relegation by picking up points against Bury who have nothing to play for but that won't be included in your system. Good luck anyway |

Re: The N.T.P.F system aka sunbeds and sandals system
Aye , point taken ODM , as it stands it looks like just a promotion/playoff v sunbed system but it does have the benefit of disallowing really shit teams .
It obviously doesn't disprove any myth , well maybe half of the myth, the half in form ![]() |

![]() I'd agree with you that they're probably safe now, but prior to Monday's games they were still in a relegation battle - Crewe were 4pts above the relegation zone and Cheltenham 5pts above, with 7 games still to go and Gillingham having a game in hand. I can guarantee you that if you'd asked Crewe or Cheltenham fans if they thought they were already safe you wouldn't have found too many people saying yes. In fact, seeing as Gillingham's game in hand is at home to Luton, if we were to win that the gap would be down to 2pts. Big "if", I know, but Crewe still won't be considering themselves safe, I don't think, and nor will Millwall (who Gills play in a couple of weeks time). |

Re: The N.T.P.F system aka sunbeds and sandals system
ok ok ffs , like a dog with a bone you are .
I will admit , that one of my research staff overlooked the fact that 4 go down in League 1, he has since been let go and now lives in a box , happy? All of which makes my results look better . So thanks for the pedant Gillsy |

Which teams are you backing, the ones with nothing to play for, or the ones with something at stake? I'm struggling to tell from the examples you've given above, and in any case, two of the games are situations where both teams have something at stake. Walsall v Crewe have both got something to play for (Walsall only 3pts off the play-offs, they're far from out of it, while Crewe are in a relegation battle), and the exact same applies to Cheltenham (relegation battle) v Orient (3pts off play-offs)
