Sys & Strategy Forum Questions

I will be having a look in here later to try and optomise things a bit. I presume that there will be loads of threads that dont have any strategy behind them at all really and should be in rags to riches or possibly in a betting record forum. Will i?

Any comments or suggestions then please make them

Maybe I was taking one of Komp's ramblings too seriously - sure he said it somewhere.

If you want to put my thread into the US sports section then may be a better home then.

He wanted to have American sports as separate forum.For about 3 hours we had that forum and in the end he put all threads back in other sports and killed the thread.

Do you think we need improvement in American sports section?

It's a bit difficult really isn't it - without a separate section on the front page it is unlikely to ever attract anyone new in to post, but there doesn't seem to be much interest on a day-to-day basis to justify that - certainly for baseball & basketball.

Personally, I just have no time anymore which is why I am trying a system approach which will allow me to carry on betting with only a minimal amount of time spent on a daily basis, with a bit of tinkering when I do find a spare moment.

thanks Pydoom and Grga. We'll sort both issues out in the next few days and everyone will be happy. Sys and strat cannot be used just for betting records though as there is other places for it. I cant comment on yours Pydoom as i havent had a chance to look at it.

Also ive got all the american sports ready to go on front page but i refuse to add them unstill we sort a wee icon out on the left of each section. Again though we'll sort it out

Pydoom your thread seems quite stratisfing to me. Does anyone wilth a bit of an interest in system's & strategies want to help me out as bit in cleaning this forum up and getting us up to speed with things? It would be much appreciated. Its the summer of goodwill i hear.

The way i was seeing it would be to make this forum not even a discussion on system and strategy (keep that in the main betting forum here) and move it back down to the temp named 'More Betting forums' forum with tipster proofing (for folks with no strategy but just looking to keep a bet record - maybe tipster proofing aing a good name for it. Bet Records or something, ties in nice with something i want to get added for you all in 2 or 3 weeks)

Aye folks could have 3 or 4 threads going 'komp's Aussie record' etc in the old tipster Proofing forum. R2R can be as daft as it sounds and really just before madcap attemps to get something, like the 'i need a tv' thread etc. I aint it's biggest fan but there is nothing wrong with a bit of fun is there.

To sumise(??)....

sys strategy becomes only sys strat threads (with a league) and gets moved back down.

Betting Talk.whatever stays up top and we try to keep all betting talk in there. It really should be our busiest forum you know. No more posting in general chat 'as it will get a better audience' That's never gonna help us

Tipster Proofing becomes a pay as you go service with all procedes to the mods that will run the forum.

Betting records (for now) will have it's own forum.

How does that sound?

Yes, that all seems to make sense especially changing the name of tipster proofing because that name does kind of put you off - betting records is much better imo.

Would it make sense to drop the 'strategy' part of the name altogether and just call it systems because I think the strategy part is the bit that encourages people to sneak the 'undesirable' threads in because you can argue that anything is a betting strategy - if you don't have any kind of betting strategy surely you are just betting at random

The threads that are more strategy than system can go in 'betting records' or whatever you decide to call it and the rest are pure strategy - which is probably not many

I guess there can still be arguments over whether something is a strategy or a system, but I would say a system is an entirely mechanical process so anyone following it would have the same bets. If there are some kind of decisions to be made etc then it is a strategy - if you see what I mean - and could just as usefully be put in 'betting records'.
