Re: Cardiff vs Watford

Sorry Cinny, event abandoned. You had the closing date wrong, you had it as tomorrow. Make sure you check the date, by default it automatically puts tomorrow's date, so if you're starting a thread for an event being played on the day you're posting, you need to change the date.

Re: Cardiff vs Watford

What's the problem, Cinny? When I opened this thread, I didn't have the possibility to settle any of the options as a winner, because theoretically the event was still open. The event can only be settled once it's closed. The only options open to me were to bet on any of the three outcomes. So even if I'd wanted to, I couldn't actually have settled your bet as a winner. Meanwhile, if I don't void the event, other people can still place bets on it.

Sorry if you're not happy with that, but I'd suggest in that case that in future you try and get the closing time right

Re: Cardiff vs Watford

Sorry, Cinny, but it's the only way we can really do it. Although I can see you started the thread before the game kicked off, I can't actually see what time you placed your bet on the event. Potentially you could've opened the event without actually betting on it, then placed the bet 5 minutes before the end of the game for all we know. Not saying you did do that, obviously, but it's a possible loophole as things stand.

Add to that the fact that at some stage you could have people opening events on, for example, MLB or NFL, which are played at times when there's virtually no-one online to actually check whether bets are placed in time, etc. That means that really the only fair way to deal with incidents like this is to void any event where the closing time is later than it should be. There will obviously be some innocent mistakes which are punished as well by that method, but unfortunately that's just the way it has to be.
