The guys are up first this Tuesday and then it's the gals next Tuesday.

OT: There is supposed to be a theme Nirvana night with Courtney Love as she owns all the rights to Nirvana's material. There's also supposed to be a Gwen Stefani/No Doubt night with...you guessed it, Gwen Stefani.

Been watching a few of the shows - remember faces but not names so will have to sort that all out in my head before getting stuck in.

Whats the format for this first part stereo...half getting cut or something?

If it's anything like the other series don' they have 4 shows of 6 lads and lasses, choose the best two from each and then have some kind of wild card format for the final 4..

Or is it two shows of 12 (girls and boys) with erm.....Can't remember

Anyhow - I'll be keepin the powder dry until these live performances in front of a small audience that starts this Friday..

The only two I can remember both the face and name of are the Malakar lad and Sundance fella.

I say lad but it might not be...there were a brother and sister...both were good and got throught a round or two but I think Sanjaya was the fella. Good singer but not someone the American public will pick up their phone to vote for...no personality to speak of.

Sundance is a fat fella...I thought he sounded good but the judges don't like him...he was put through purely on Randy's insistence and unless he pulls something out the bag the other two will look to get him out fairly sharpish.

I know thats fuck all help but it helps me start somewhere

Seems like I've got the format wrong this year.

The 12 guys perform (pre-recorded not live) on Tuesday night, the gals perform (pre-recorded not live) on Wednesday night but it's two guys who are eliminated on Thursday?

Eh. Blake Lewis has got some of the attention on the AI fanboards but it's probably a red herring like the early support of Ace Young last year.

Hmmm. Apparently they were all terrible with only Blake Lewis or Chris Richardson singing anything that was resembling 'listenable'. I expect their odds to dip on Thursday/Friday.

Didn't realise Bet365 were offering odds on the eliminations so early. I missed the odd for the guys but I got the odds for the gals.

The wifey called me from the States. She's watched both the girls and boys episodes - she said the boys were shite and the girls were really good. She also told me that two boys and two girls get eliminated tonight..

No idea where to start with this. I'll try and get up to speed before the final 12 and start punting then I think. Its on in half an hour on ITV2 as far as I remember.

Hmmm. Some people seem to remain unconvinced about Antonella Barba's fate but a third set of racy photos have emerged and this time they're rather explicit.

It looks like Antonella's ex-boyfriend has set out to wreck his revenge on her. Publically. There's supposed to be even more photos going to come out into the public domain.

I think she's a goner on Tuesday's show.

As much as I like looking at the photos, what a scumbag of an ex-boyfriend to have had. Poor Antonella.

Thought I'd an initial delve into American Idol, tentatively with small stakes. Initial views are that Lakisha is ridiculaously short at 3.2 (although last night she was 2.7 ). A typically stereotypical large black lady with large voice, but unfortunately sadly lacking in personality and just not worthy of such short odds at such an early stage. The one thing you could consider is that she comes across as a female Ruben (who won AM 2), ie large, black and boring, but I cannot see her going all the way. More of interest is the former backing singer Melinda Doolittle who is as competent as Lakisha, but has a 'story' that all Americans love, and she appears to be a genuine and nice person. She also has a quirky look, ie a head too big for her body.. . Nicely priced at 6's, this price can only fall..

I'm suprised at the price of Chris Sligh at 13's. Another oddball that Americans seem to love. Standing up for all the overweight geeks in the States, he will be well supported, as is shown in the past.

Finally I thought I'd have silly little nibbles at a couple of outsiders (Gina and Leslie) who i mayy be able to lay off for a small profit later. No strong reason - just thought the prices were high...
