Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
Odds for reference...
9/2 - Sam Attwater 6/1 - Jennifer Metcalfe 8/1 - Jeff Brazier 8/1 - Kerry Katona 12/1 - Johnson Beharry 14/1 - Laura Hamilton 14/1 - Elen Rives 16/1 - Chloe Madeley 16/1 - Angela Rippon 16/1 - Steven Arnold 16/1 - Dominic Cork 16/1 - Nadia Sawalha 16/1 - Craig McLachlan 20/1 - Vanilla Ice 20/1 - Denise Welch 20/1 - Dave Vitty Odds from Will Hill. Interesting mix - particularly people like Beharry(VC winner up against people that haven't worked a day in their life!) or Rives(just dumped!) etc. Katona is an interesting one - I expect she could do very well. ITV love her, and as much as I don't she has a journey story which will give her a big advantage if she is a decent skater(plus its always easier for the women to look good on this.) However, there's probably a sizeable anti-vote waiting to scupper her chances late on. Attwater appears to be a trained dancer so prob a worthy market leader - but there may be too many lively 'journey' winners for the default winner to win this one. Brazier probably has a good shout - he's a reality TV veteran and likely to be a reasonably good skater I would think. Katona possibly injured btw. Last edited by Beanie : 19-12-2010 at 22:43. |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
I've taken Paddy Power's 7/1 on Laura Hamilton. Should still be there for a short while...unfortunately was far too slow for the 14/1
![]() All other firms have cut her price into near favouritism(most going 4/1 or lower) and there seems to be a few whispers about that she could be the one to watch. From the info I've found online she's a reasonably well trained dancer and is a very good skiier/snowboarder, so that would suggest that she's also done ice skating before, or at the very least should find it reasonably easy to pick up. Bottom line is that history tells us you need to be a very good skater to win this - popularity alone isnt enough. Not particularly well known, but from what I can see she seems likeable/interesting enough. |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
Yuk. Seems the final three's more-or-less been gambled on by those in the know and they are: Sam Attwater, Laura Hamilton and Jennifer Metcalfe.
ITV don't usually let any representatives of other TV channels win (who was the last one? Lucy Benjamin in 'The X Factor: Battle of the Stars'!?) but if that's the final three then that's their fate. Kerry Katona will last longer than last year's public train wreck Heather Mills (she was fifth out) purely because ITV have done £60k to get her on board. I guess the armed forces and BFBS will be behind Johnson Beharry. I can't imagine Jeff Brazier's that good on the ice compared to Jennifer, Laura & Sam. Five of the top six (barring Kerry Katona) in the market appears to look very good to last the course considering who the other eleven are. Outright to win: Sam Attwater 11/4 (Boylesports/Sportingbet) Laura Hamilton 4/1 (Betfred/Coral/Sky Bet/Sportingbet/Victor Chandler) Jennifer Metcalfe 7/1 (Coral/Paddy Power/William Hill) Jeff Brazier 10/1 (Betfred/William Hill) Kerry Katona 12/1 (Bet365/Betfred/Coral/Sportingbet/William Hill) Johnson Beharry 14/1 (Bet365/Betfred/Coral/Sky Bet/William Hill) Vanilla Ice 20/1 (general) Chloe Madeley 20/1 (general) David Vitty 20/1 (general) Angela Rippon 28/1 (Betfred/Boylesports) Denise Welch (28/1 (Sportingbet) Elen Rives 33/1 (Betfred/Sportingbet) Nadia Sawalha 33/1 (Betfred/Sportingbet) Craig McLachlan 40/1 (Bet365/Boylesports) Dominic Cork 40/1 (Bet365/Boylesports/Victor Chandler) Steven Arnold 40/1 (Betfred/Sportingbet) Top Man: Sam Attwater 8/11 (Paddy Power/William Hill) Jeff Brazier 9/2 (Paddy Power/Victor Chandler/William Hill) Johnson Beharry 7/1 (Paddy Power/William Hill) David Vitty 11/1 (Victor Chandler) Vanilla Ice 12/1 (William Hill) Steven Arnold 12/1 (Victor Chandler/William Hill) Dominic Cork 20/1 (Victor Chandler) Craig McLachlan 20/1 (Victor Chandler) Top Woman: Laura Hamilton 11/10 (Paddy Power/William Hill) Jennifer Metcalfe 7/2 (Paddy Power) Kerry Katona 13/2 (Victor Chandler) Chloe Madeley 12/1 (Paddy Power) Angela Rippon 14/1 (Victor Chandler/William Hill) Denise Welch 14/1 (general) Nadia Sawalha 14/1 (William Hill) Elen Rives 16/1 (Victor Chandler) Gender of Winner: Female 4/5 (William Hill) Male 11/10 (Paddy Power) Hmmm. How strong will the support be for Sam Attwater & Laura Hamilton? I would give the edge to Laura Hamilton to win this in that ITV wouldn't want somebody from EastEnders winning but if Sam can 'Ray Quinn' this by being head and shoulders above the others than it doesn't matter about ITV bias...probably. The previous winners of DOI: Gaynor Faye, Kyran Bracken, Suzanne Shaw, Ray Quinn & Hayley Tamaddon. Dancing on Ice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
Today's Bettingzone Market News:
1230: Kerry Katona has reportedly broken two ribs during practice ahead of ITV's Dancing On Ice reality show which starts in the New Year and she's 5/1 with William Hill to fall during her first live performance. Hill's have not seen any bets larger than £2 for Katona since the news broke - she is currently 12/1 - with Sam Attwater (the firm's 9/4 jolly) and Jeff Brazier attracting the bulk of the early money. "Our punters are of the opinion that Kerry’s injury could knock her for six and they are expecting more Bambi on ice than Dancing On Ice," said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
an outsider that may be worth a punt to lay off later could be angela rippon 27.0. she will be popular with the older generation and is also a trained dancer if memory serves me right.
i also suspect vanilla ice may be a decent skater |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
Today's Bettingzone Market News:
1200: Dancing On Ice kicks off with a twist this year: two celebrities will be booted off before they even join the show proper and Sky Bet has opened betting on which duo will be dropped. Half of this year’s crop of 16 celebrities will take to the ice on Sunday’s launch show and the three who receive least public votes will face the skate-off, with the two least popular celebrities hanging up their skates. The new-look judging panel of Emma Bunton, Jason Gardiner and Robin Cousins will have no say in who goes. Sky Bet make actress Nadia Sawalha favourite to be axed at 11/10, with ex-newsreader Angela Rippon second favourite at 11/8. War hero Johnson Beharry is next in the elimination betting at 5/2 together with TV presenter Jeff Brazier. Former Coronation street actor Stephen Arnold is 3/1 to be axed, with US rapper Vanilla Ice a 7/2 shot. Kerry Katona, who recently cracked two ribs in training, is a 5/1 outsider to be one of the two eliminees and is proving a popular bet to win Dancing On Ice at 10/1. Nickelodeon presenter Laura Hamilton, who is 7/2 second favourite to win the show and described by Christopher Dean as a ‘speed demon’, is 7/2 to be knocked out. Sky Bet’s Helen Jacob said: "With the public in control on Sunday, the best skaters and the biggest household names should benefit, while those who fall into neither camp are going to struggle to make the cut and we fear Nadia and Angela might be skating on thin ice." The remaining eight contestants will skate the following Sunday, when another two will leave the contest before the competition gets properly underway in week three. Former EastEnders star Sam Attwater is Sky Bet’s early 9/4 favourite to win Dancing On Ice. |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
And from what I can tell, they've had to stitch things up so that she stayed. Votes wiped(she was possibly behind Nadia) and they put Nadia on last, with the lines closing about a minute later.
Anyway, different contest for her now - she needs to connect with the audience, and will probably only have about 2/3 weeks to do so while the fodder goes first. |

Re: Dancing on Ice 2011
Wouldn't disagree that some producer meddling ensured Laura Hamilton stayed.
TV - News - Rippon, Sawalha first out of 'Dancing On Ice' - Digital Spy Is it just a matter of making sure Sam Attwater doesn't win or what? Can't imagine they'd let Vanilla Ice win as non-UK folks don't tend to win these type of shows (does Linda Evans winning 'Hell's Kitchen' count?). |
