Strictly Come Dancing 2010
BBC - Strictly Come Dancing 2010 - Dancers
14 dancers...some of them are chancers. No odds yet but this is how I'd rank 'em right now. Very EastEnders heavy. They should probably have a 'top EastEnder' market. * Gavin Henson (the Welsh bloc vote unless he's robotic like Joe Calzaghe was) * Matt Baker (the in-house guy but after Chris's win last year, Matt probably won't win) * Kara Tointon (will be surprised if she doesn't get to the final five) * Michelle Williams (non-Brits don't usually win UK talent shows and why isn't she in Dancing with the Stars instead!? Suspect she'll be head and shoulders above the rest of 'em but she will mysteriously be eliminated like oooh, Austin Healey was) * Tina O'Brien (Coronation Street stars don't do well on BBC shows though) * Scott Maslen (could be the dark horse but can he dance? Will he have a 'journey'?) * Patsy Kensit (will last surprisingly longer than expected due to the Emmerdale/Holby City fanbase) * Felicity Kendal (duking it out with Pamela as to who'll last longer) * Pamela Stephenson (will be duking it with Felicity as to who'll last longer) * Jimi Mistry (suspect he'll fair poorly and suffer a similar fate to Rav Wilding) * Peter Shilton (has no natural fanbase) * Goldie (will suffer a similar fate to DJ Spoony) * Anne Widdecombe (will be duking it out with Paul as this year's comic relief/John Sargeant...) * Paul Daniels (...but Anne will get housewives' vote more than Paul will) |

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Today's Bettingzone Market News:
1340: William Hill think that Strictly Come Dancing 2010 will be the most open in its history but first sight of the contestants does not fill them with confidence. Hills make Kara Tointon 4/1 joint-favourite with Michelle Williams and make Gavin Henson a 5/1 shot. Ann Widdecombe and Paul Daniels are their 50/1 outsiders. "On paper the contestants do not look that inspired and turnover to suffer as a result," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams. Paddy Power make Daniels their 3/1 favourite to be one of the show’s rabbits in headlights and be eliminated first followed by Widdecombe at 7/2. In other Paddy Power specials, former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton is 3/1 to drop his dance partner whilst Daniels is 40/1 to pull a rabbit out of his dance partner’s dress during a show. ============== Odds as they are right now at William Hill: Kara Tointon 4/1 Matt Baker 9/2 Michelle Williams 9/2 Scott Maslen 6/1 Tina O'Brien 8/1 Gavin Henson 8/1 Patsy Kensit 10/1 Jimi Mistry 10/1 Goldie 20/1 Felicity Kendal 25/1 Pamela Stephenson 33/1 Paul Daniels 66/1 Peter Shilton 66/1 Ann Widdecombe 66/1 |

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Don't think so...well nothing I found through Google anyhow.
No mention on who's dancing with who yet although some catty fans really want Brendan Cole to partner Ann Widdecombe as he generally gets the pretty or glamourous ones. Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Updated outright odds before tonight's show:
Kara Tointon 9/2 (Boylesports/Sportingbet/William Hill) Matt Baker 9/2 (general) Jimi Mistry (Sportingbet/Stan James) Michelle Williams 7/1 (Betfred/Boylesports/Ladbrokes/Paddy Power/William Hill) Scott Maslen 8/1 (Boylesports/Extrabet/Victor Chandler/William Hill) Felicity Kendal 9/1 (Blue Square/Boylesports/Coral/Extrabet/Sportingbet) Tina O'Brien 12/1 (Betfred/Boylesports/Sportingbet/Victor Chandler/WIlliam Hill) Scott Henson 20/1 (Bet365/Betfred/Boylesports/Ladbrokes/William Hill/Victor Chandler) Patsy Kensit 25/1 (Betfred/Coral/Ladbrokes) Goldie 33/1 (Betfred/Victor Chandler) Pamela Stephenson 66/1 (Betfred/Boylesports) Ann Widdecombe 66/1 (Blue Square/Paddy Power/William Hill) Peter Shilton 80/1 (Boylesports/Extrabet/Sportingbet) Paul Daniels 100/1 (Betfred/Boylesports) Hmmm. Michelle Williams pushed out as I think bookies may be coming 'round to my thinking that the GBP won't vote for an American and that she will be nobbled. Jimi Mistry being backed as the ahem, 'dark horse'? Felicity Kendal being supported!? Huh!? ![]() No dance-off just whoever was least popular with the public goes? No idea what result that Gavin Henson tan market was. Paddy Power Betting Results | Daily Horse Racing Results
Today's Bettingzone Market News: 1100: With the first week of the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing out the way, as expected it was the betting favourites, former Blue Peter presenter Matt Baker and EastEnders actress Kara Tointon, that impressed the bookmakers. Coral have cut the price of both, but have promoted Baker 5/2 from 4/1, above Eastenders actress Tointon (3/1 from 7/2). The big star of the show though was former politician Ann Widdecombe. She received a standing ovation from both the audience and her fellow competitors and has been cut in price to 50/1 (from 100/1) by Coral, even though her dancing could do with a little improvement. “Widdy is never going to win on her dancing ability, but similar to John Sergeant before her, she will be a big hit with viewers and her involvement could last a good few weeks," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton. Pamela Stephenson was also a huge surprise and after scoring the joint-highest mark of the weekend, was slashed in price to 14/1 (from 40/1). |

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Seems they've followed Dancing with the Stars in how they do things now. Odds from Boylesports:

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Bettingzone are tipping Jimi Mistry, Gavin Henson and Pamela Stephenson.
HENSON CAN BE A STRICTLY SUCCESS: Betting Zone - Racing Betting, Football Betting, Golf Betting, Sports Betting, Cheeky Punt I don't think they'll be repeating last year's Chris Hollins fluke somehow. If forced to I'd be backing Matt Baker, Kara Tointon and Michelle Williams over Bettingzone's chosen three. |

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Goldie & Peter Shilton in the bottom two but Goldie goes as he has the fewest votes. The judges don't save who they want now as they follow how it's done in the US.
Pamela Stephenson seemingly very popular (she looks fabulous for her age and better than her rival Felicity Kendal) but I don't think she can usurp Kara Tointon. Some folks think Matt Baker's dancing partner and her 'sloppy' choreography is what will stop him from winning. |

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Yesterday's Bettingzone Market News:
1730: Former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams has been backed to be the next celebrity voted off Strictly Come Dancing with Coral cutting her price to 10/1 (from 14/1) today. The American, who partners Brendan Cole, has finished mid-table in both her dances so far and is a 20/1 chance in the outright betting. "Although she has performed well, her scores put her in that vulnerable position just above the worst dancers," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton. Matt Baker is the hot favourite to win at 15/8 with Kara Tointon next in the betting at 3/1 with Coral. ============= Hmmm. This absolute stinks if Michelle Williams IS the second to go. Dunno if she wants to bother to continue as the judges keep marking her down and the audience don't seem to be warming to her. There will be a 'shock' elimination as there always is but in the second week!? No judges to save any of 'em means this is easily rigged. Updated outright to win odds: Matt Baker 11/5 (Boylesports) Kara Tointon 4/1 (Sky Bet) Scott Maslen 11/2 (Boylesports) Jimi Mistry 17/2 (Sportingbet/Victor Chandler) Pamela Stephenson 10/1 (Boylesports/Blue SQ/Stan James/William Hill) Gavin Henson 22/1 (Blue SQ/Victor Chandler) Tina O'Brien 33/1 (Boylesports/Victor Chandler) Felicity Kendal 33/1 (general) Michelle Williams 33/1 (general) Ann Widdecombe 66/1 (Victor Chandler) Patsy Kensit 66/1 (Victor Chandler) Paul Daniels 200/1 (Betfred/Boylesports/Ladbrokes/Victor Chandler) Peter Shilton 200/1 (Betfred/Boylesports/Ladbrokes/Victor Chandler) Top Man: Matt Baker 10/11 (Ladbrokes) Scott Maslen 3/1 (Betfred/Boylesports) Jimi Mistry 9/2 (Victor Chandler) Gavin Henson 16/1 (Victor Chandler) Paul Daniels 150/1 (Boylesports/Ladbrokes) Peter Shilton 150/1 (Boylesports/Ladbrokes/Paddy Power) Top Woman: Kara Tointon 'evens' (Bet365/Victor Chandler/William Hill) Pamela Stephenson 7/2 (William Hill) Tina O'Brien 14/1 (Boylesports) Michelle Williams 14/1 (Bet365/Betfred/Victor Chandler) Felicity Kendal 16/1 (Boylesports) Ann Widdecomeb 25/1 (Boylesports/Ladbrokes/Paddy Power/Victor Chandler) Patsy Kensit 25/1 (general) Second Elimination: Peter Shilton 7/4 (Boylesports) Paul Daniels 9/4 (general) Patsy Kensit 10/1 (Boylesports/Victor Chandler) Michelle Williams 14/1 (Boylesports) Ann Widdecombe 16/1 (Bet365/Betfred/Sky Bet) Felicity Kendal 16/1 (Betfred/Victor Chandler) Gavin Henson 18/1 (Sky Bet) Tina O'Brien 20/1 (Betfred) Pamela Stephenson 40/1 (Coral) Jimi Mistry 40/1 (general) Scott Maslen 50/1 (general) Kara Tointon 66/1 (Betfred/Boylesports/Victor Chandler) Matt Baker 100/1 (general) From William Hill: Series Match-bets: * Kara Tointon 4/9 vs. 13/8 Jimi Mistry * Scott Maslen 3/10 vs. 12/5 Gavin Henson * Michelle Williams 5/4 vs. 4/7 Tina O'Brien * Felicity Kendal 9/4 vs. 1/3 Pamela Stephenson Think all the favourites will win with the 'shock' elimination of Michelle Williams coming sooner rather than later than I predicted. How many points will Craig give Ann this week? - Week Two One 5/4 Two 3/1 Three 3/1 Four or more 9/2 He only gave her one, ahem point. She's dancing the quickstep this week. Easily rigged. Should be one as he'll mark her down whilst everyone else will mark her up (she got twelve for her salsa) but who knows. Tina O'Brien has chicken pox and won't be dancing this week so she gets a bye. If she doesn't dance two weeks running, she's out.

Re: Strictly Come Dancing 2010
Bet365 had some in-running odds but don't. They had Paul Daniels at 7/4, Peter Shilton at 2/1 and Michelle Williams collapsed from 9/1 into 4/1. Will the Michelle Williams gamble be landed? Probably.
Ann got a 3 from Craig. All the others gave her 5. |
