X Factor 2010
I hate this show, I cant watch it, it’s complete and utter shite. However….
I’ve got to follow this time, my hometown is getting excited by chances of local girl Cher Lloyd winning it. She appeared on last nights show, her fan page has since gone from 800 to nearly 6000 in the past 10 hours and bookies currently have her 8/1 2nd fav’ to win it. From local press… Cher hits the right notes to wow Cheryl (From Worcester News) Quote:
I don’t know the family that well, I only know of them, but she was brought up on the same estate as me, went to the same secondary school as me (the same secondary school my youngest starts at tomorrow). She's confident for somebody so young, looks the part, can sing, has previous experience and I’m going to be wishing her the very best. A large punt (through Malvern tinted spectacles) is inevitable. |

Re: X Factor 2010
So far...
Liam Payne - Great audition, has similar appeal to that blond welsh thing from last year that avoided being voted out for ages, despite being out of tune every week. From this performance, it's still touch and go as to whether he'll get through to the finals. He hasn't demonstrated versatility, just arrogance and a smile to wet girls panties. Should not be the favourite. Gamu Nhengu - I don't like her. Reminds me of Rachel Adedeji, great voice but little personality. Simon didn't like her either, and that counts in this show. The Reason - Tuning issues and look like a bunch of tossers from your local Yates' who think they're all that! Avoid! Treyc Cohen - Got to the judge's house stage last year. She's back with a new image, but I have to say I preferred the afro disco chic of last year, which looked softer and more friendly. This new image looks she's about bitch slap someone for looking at her in McDonalds. Even so, decent performance and judging on last year's back catalogue, someone who possesses versatility. One to watch! Matt Cardle - Nice voice with great tone. The performance was a little timid. This guy can sing, but I just don't think he can hold the stage by himself. He should be in a band! Mary Byrn - Irish vote, simple as (if she gets to the finals that is)! She will not be able to mix it with the younger contenders and nor will she be able to sing and dance the pop numbers (I think). She gives Simon and whatever judge mentors her group a major headache. She has an amazing voice, but she doesn't really sit well with the X-Factor brand and image. In fact, she's more of a Britain's Got Talent star. There are a few decent bets on her to be on the Oprah show etc. If she gets to the finals, she'll perhaps go half distance based on what I've seen so far, simply because of the diaspora. Annastasia Baker - So she copied Rachel Adedeji, although not sure the tranny comment was called for Even on the second song she didn't really get much better. There were tuning issues and Simon was right describing her as a cabaret singer. It's a resounding NO from me!Rebecca Creighton - No. Boring. Nasel sounding. No way! I'm bored now and fed up of seeing those rehearsed vomit-worthy judge smiles. Favourite for me so far is Cher Lloyd who is discussed in the previous post, but don't see her as a major contender yet; she's still far too rough around the edges. The rapping is terrible and those facial expressions are already winding me up. Last edited by Gavster : 05-09-2010 at 11:19. |

Re: X Factor 2010
I hate x factor but saw this girl, imo she will make the live shows but she wont go far in it. She has got a good voice but her face expressions made me cringe and no doubt stories will come out about her. Certainly do able though

Re: X Factor 2010
I'm going to take a female that they can mould into another ballad diva in the same mould as Leona and Alexandra - seems to be the best type of winner for success in the current market, and a fairly easy one to push over the line.
Male winners have never enjoyed much longevity whereas in recent years the female winners have been cleaning up, not to mention a far better chance of cracking America, and I think in a reasonably strong male year last year they pushed the males to avoid crowding the market with females too soon after Alexandra and Leona(Simon picked 3 males in his category alone and ramped most of the males.) Im not convinced by any of the market leaders so I'll have a peep at the current outsiders. They need to be note perfect with a good range, so there's a few big priced runners kicking about that perhaps fit the bill. Treyc(20/1) Hollie, Ruth Ann, Keri(all 33/1) all maybes at the mo. I'll go for Keri just now based on the 20 seconds there is available of her. Always a bit of a risk taking those not given much early exposure, but then thats why the price is what it is I guess. A play on the 33/1 at Skybet for me. |

She's been singing a while now, she's always sang at peoples houses as a kid (apparently) and the news article i posted says she has won Pop Idols 2008 contest for Worcestershire youngsters and earlier this year she bagged a grand for runner up in TextFactor? She loves performing that's for sure. I was actually told last Thursday (before Saturdays show was screened) that not only had she got through but she was at the Solicitors the next day having to sign agreements for the final twelve. Rumours are sure to be started though, having said that, like i say i was told that two days before the show was screened. She's a no bet for me now anyway, i could of took twelves but only 3 bookies were priced up at the time, i thought i'd get bigger but looked the next day and she was 8's. Now best priced @ 11/2. No bet, i'm just going to wish her the best, it would be great to see her win it. |

Eurovision kicks off in a few weeks. See you on the forum when it's up again.Kop, I think I'd lay her winning. I see something there, but nothing that makes me go wow. At the moment, she's the best of an average bunch. I accept she's passionate, taken part in a few competitions and done very well, but none of them measure up to the X Factor pressure. Do you know whether she just does rap/R&B? |

I'm not sure tbh, i' know she's done a bit of lady gaga before, but she's defo a lover of rap and R&B.

Re: X Factor 2010
The judges houses section hasnt been filmed yet(I think its round about now that it is being done) so I dont think anyone knows for sure that they are in the final 12 yet.
That said, given the amount of exposure she has had its a fairly safe bet that she will make it. Not bad gav, few things going on but looking forward to Eurovision season of course. Sounds like Jedward will be in the Irish selection process... |

Re: X Factor 2010
Yep, there's something about her. Louis seemed incredibly positive - hopefully his insistence alone will have got her through to the judges houses.
Im not sure about the trashing thing - I thought that was boot camp but cant say I've paid much attention. Im pretty sure the houses section is going on just now and they do stagger them a little(makes the filming easier I guess) so quite possible that one or two are finished. |

Re: X Factor 2010
Here's one of many newspaper reports Beanie. I'd say the final contestants are all chosen by now and signed up for the live tour. So, some rumours floating round may just hold some truth.
