Re: Brit Awards 2010
Most of the value has gone out as those in the know have placed their bets. Some of the nominees are odds-on shot for a reason. I've generally boycotted betting on them but I may put up my thoughts if I can be bothered to. They're hardly the Oscars with their own set of independent auditors such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and of course, everybody knows the winners at the afternoon rehearsal on the day of the show.

Re: Brit Awards 2010
D'OH!! Waited too long and most bookies have pulled categories because of insider betting. Predictions anyway.
* British Single: JLS - Beat Again (their fans should have their number on speed dial to vote for them repeatedly on the night) * International Breakthrough Act - Lady Gaga (she's turning up so she's winning) * British Album - Florence And The Machine - Lungs (seems already arranged) * British Female Solo Artist - Lily Allen (payback for being snubbed a few years back) * British Group - Kasabian (they're performing. This category's turned into a consolation prize over the years) * British Male Solo Artist - Dizzee Rascal (been bet on like he can't lose. Seems almost like a 'We're not racist...really!' prize for snubbing black artists over the years. Last solo male ethnic winner? Finlay Quaye.) * International Album - Jay-Z - The Blueprint 3 (ordinarily this would go to Lady Gaga but The Sun probably know something) * International Female Solo Artist - Lady Gaga (of the five, 2009 was her year and of course, she's turning up...) * International Male Solo Artist - Jay-Z (...as is he) * British Breakthrough Act - JLS (organisers may conveniently fix this for Florence Welch to nobble the JLS bloc vote though) |

Re: Brit Awards 2010
Hmmm. Some bookies aren't scared of being stung by those in the know. Pixie Lott to win Best British Female appears to be the last hurrah as a gamble as she's gambled into 3/1 and less.
Although I went with Pixie Lott to win over on Digital Spy before the nominations were announced I thought the subsequent plunge for Lily Allen from second favourite into a pretty strong odds-on favourite was enough of a warning that it's a done deal. Odd if Lily gets snubbed AGAIN this time around...or maybe not! |

Re: Brit Awards 2010
Have to say it's little wonder Ladbrokes or William Hill didn't bother pricing it up. All the favourites won which was hardly surprising (it's a fix, not a contest and I'm surprised there's any betting on it) and I should have known Jay-Z would have legged it as soon as he won his award as he wouldn't stay on for even an incy wincy bit longer to pick up another award.
Pre-nominations I could hardly have got it more wrong but I'm pretty sure I tipped up Dizzee Rascal and Lily Allen to win before changing my mind a couple of times over on Digital Spy. Sometimes your first thought is the right one, kiddos!
