Re: X Factor 2009
Have a few points on a 1.Joe 2. Olly 3. Stacey finish which looks very good at the mo. Cheers for all of your advice fellas. Am tempted to put a few more points on Button for the sports personality but may wait and do it in-play.

Re: X Factor 2009
I'm not sure why you seem to think olly can't win. iv only seen two shows but olly has a personality which is more than stacey or joe have.
if the business was all about singing talent then robbie Williams would be mopping floors in Burslem McDonalds. |

Re: X Factor 2009
He's got an outside chance ODM but by all accounts he's been polling lower than Joe for around 4-5 weeks now, and there's nothing thats happened tonight that would mean that that will change. Joe gets pimp slot(lines open straight after he performs), tears from Cheryl(darling of the chavs), George Michael turns up and does well.
He needed something tonight out of the ordinary to reverse the form of the last month or so and he didnt get it - and with the winners song being a dirgy ballad it doesnt look like it will happen tomorrow night either. |

Re: X Factor 2009
Joe should win but who really knows? I think you have one or two BT employees (still working or otherwise) around the internet forums saying that it isn't rigged and that they know the voting figures but there's no 'legal audit' for reality TV shows and OFCOM generally laugh off voters who complain about the 'wrong result' (like when Lucie Jones lost out to John and Edward recently).
One has to LOL at The Sun getting Yougov in to do their polling for them as to who should win but apparently Yougov made it's reputation on the first series of 'Pop Idol' when it was one of the few pollsters who correctly predicted that Will Young would beat Gareth Gates. Joe tipped for landslide in X Factor final | The Sun |Showbiz|TV|X Factor Mildly pissed I didn't jump on the 7/4 for that Joe/Olly/Stacey 1/2/3 finish now! ![]() OT: Long term neither Joe or Olly will do any significant business as Simon Cowell doesn't seem to know what to do with male winners of any of his shows either in the UK or in the US (Steve Brookstein, Shayne Ward, Leon Jackson, Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, David Cook and Kris Allen). If you're a white female in the US or a black female in the UK then Simon Cowell's got some semblance of a clue as to what to do (he generally doesn't know what to do with Fantasia Barrino or Jordin Sparks who happen to be black females although Jordin is still going fairly strong and releasing singles). Every single male winner has come a cropper long-term (Will Young belongs to Simon Fuller which probably prompted a move as to why Simon Cowell jumped on the reality TV bandwagon and created 'The X Factor' in the first place and get all the monies not just some but he gets handsomely rewarded for 'American Idol' ~ $20 million+ isn't it!? ~ so he isn't going to cut his ties with Simon Fuller out of spite). |

Re: X Factor 2009
I conveniently forgot about Paul Potts who was the original Susan Boyle. Possibly a curious case of not being that 'ugly' enough to gain sympathy like mad ol' Susan and being rather niche what with being an 'opera singer' as Simon gave him 'operatic' versions of pop songs to sing. Still touring but not selling anywhere near the number of records like he did initially.
Today's Bettingzone Market News: 1110: Joe McElderry is the odds-on favourite for tonight's X Factor final, but Olly Murs is the one attracting the cash this morning. McElderry is currently a best price of 1/3 (Sportingbet and Ladbrokes) but that only looks set to inflate if the current wagering pattern continues. The other finalist, Olly, is into a general 11/4 this morning having been as big as 9/2 prior to last night's semi-final which saw Stacey Solomon eliminated. |

Vote stats from each week:

Re: X Factor 2009
Other notes: For the 2nd year running the Daily Star leaks were spot on. They reported that despite the hype J+E were polling terribly, that Rachel topped the vote in week 3, and that Joe was polling more votes than Stacey and Olly combined in the last 3 weeks.
Oh and Olly finished bottom the week J+E went...wonder how tempted Simon was for deadlock that week... And last week was incredibly close in terms of who went....Danyl 18.8, Stacey 19.4, Olly 19.6! |
