Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

Sportsbook.com go 1.74 for over 60.5 hotdogs..
Pinnaclesports go 1.64 for over 60.5 hotdogs

Ladbrokes go 7/4 over 59.5 hotdogs..for a new world record (max £40)

Now tell me am I missing something obvious here??

Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

That particular market now removed (temporarily?) from Ladbrokes..

Do they read this forum?!

Hopefully £40 well spent..

Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

I've been looking at this all morning trying to find a bet I liked. It had looked like I'd missed out on all the value

7/4 over 59.5 hotdogs - fantastic price, wish I'd seen it earlier!
Over 57.5 at 9/10 - another massive price!

But I've been on Bodog and they're offering "top three to eat over 167.5 @ 1.87"

Joey and Kobayashi shared 118 between them last year, and you'd expect them to improve on that total. Even if they don't that leaves 50 hotdogs to find from the third place finisher. Considering Tim "Eater X" Janus scoffed 50 in his qualifier and expects to improve on that today, while Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti is also expecting to down at least 50 dogs, this should see a pay out.

Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

Well, £160 later my bets are

Over 59.5 hotdogs @ 7/4 - £40 stake
Over 57.5 at 9/10 - £60 stake
Winning Margin less than 4 hotdogs @ evens - £60 stake

Overtime last year at normal time and I wonder if it could happen again? Laddies offer 9/1 ? However before that the last tie was in 1980. That said the new 10 minute time limit only started last year so there could be potential for it to happen again..

Also - like the look of Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti. Wish I could have him at e/w, but I can't... However he is matched up against Tim "Eater X" Janus @ 2.25 which I might be tempted.. Also as they are both expected to top 50 each, the combined hotdogs eaten between those two @ over 82.5 dogs is offered at 1.74, which seems like nicking money..

So many bets..

Where is that at Trick? That sounds like an excellent bet!

Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

Took that overs bet and I also have taken a punt on Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti to out-eat Tim "Eater X" Janus @ 2.25..

Swayed by comments made by Buck Wolf, who has participated in a number of radio broadcasts of the Nathan's finals

Quote:
Bertoletti Will Take the Coney Island Hot Dog Contest
Patrick Bertoletti A new king will be crowned Saturday at Coney Island. Let me go on record as predicting Patrick "Deep Dish" Bertoletti will win the coveted Nathan's mustard yellow belt.

Most of the world sees the annual hot dog eating contest as a two-man race between six-time champ Takeru Kobayashi and Joey Chestnut, who has won the last two contests. But the time for change has come.

I spent four years doing as part of the ABC News radio broadcast team that provided play-by-play coverage of the Augusta of all eating contests. I've been in the "spew zone," that area just in front of the eaters, where, if you're unlucky, you can be sprayed with partially digested food.

I've seen a lot of eaters come and go. I've seen the legend that was Ed "Cookie" Jarvis, and remember the day when Don "Moses" Lerman woofed down seven quarter-pound sticks of salted butter in five minutes.

I have no inside information. But I'm telling you all to watch Bertoletti. The Chicago native, still in his mid 20s, is the future of competitive eating.
Thats my bets done now - honest !

Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

Cheers Trick, BetUSA offer the same bet.

On the over 82.5 (Bertoletti/Janus) for $100 ($50 each at BetUSA/Sportsbook.com).

Also, taken a very small maximum bet on "the field" at 15.00 at Bet365, limited to just £7.14 based on Buck Wolf's comments.

Re: Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009

Conditions dont look too hot - should be handy for getting a few extra dogs down. Chestnutt looks a bit leaner than usual too.
