Re: American Idol - Season 7
A few conspiracy theories and debunking emerged from that.
Brooke rode her luck and she generally didn't really deliver. Close but no cigar with Brooke and Syesha in the bottom two but Brooke's the one outta here. Eh. Hindsight's 20/20 and all that but hey, 8/5 was worth a cover bet in case Brooke was going this week and I didn't go for it. Oh well.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
After watching the performances tonight, I'm very surprised that Jason Castro wasnt even in the bottom 2 - never mind eliminated..
Brooke actually was better than she has been for the past 2-3 weeks - alas the damage had been done..
Anyhoo - onto more important matters now that Brooke has gone - outright winner of which I have potentially huge outcome...
Cookie now officially is favourite to win with Bet365 - and quite a big margin between him and Archie as well .
American Idol 08 - Trickrick's record
Bets placed - 8(4 w, 6 l)
Amount Staked - 43.7 pts
Amount returned - 53.62 pts
Profit to date +9.92 pts

Re: American Idol - Season 7
On Tuesday there was £70-odd being offered on Jason at around 11/10 with Syesha being around 4/5. I did cosider a bet, but didn’t which I now regret. Another regret is that I was tempted to edge on David A at 11/8, but decided against it..D’OH! Can’t see him being that now.
In fact my bookmaker instincts would peg David C at 4/5, David A at evens, and Syesha at 20/1.. Probably not given myself any margin there – but heck I ain’t a bookie !!: lol

Obviously Bet365 read TDP.. I might become a bookie..
To be fair they opened their market today at Cookie 4/7 and Archie 11/8, but obviously the 11/8 was snapped up !!

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Ok...Maybe a demonstration of my concern regarding the apparent growth again of David A, coupled with the fact that historically rock performers have always underachieved in AI, and maybe the worry that Jason fans have moved to David A, I have decided to edge my bets..
40 pt stake on the Field (David A and Syesha) vs David Cook @ 2.01 (Pinnacle)
I already have 10 pts on David Cook to win AI @ 10/1.. Therefore this means my situation is...if..
David C wins AI - Potential Profit +60pts
David A wins AI - Potential Profit +30.1pts
Syesha wins AI - Potential Profit +30.1 pts
So I am a guaranteed winner irrespective of who wins, and it saves me the heartache of David C getting pipped at the post. I guess now I can sit back and cheer on David C safe in the knowledge I am due a windfall whoever wins and ultimately a highly profitable AI campaign....

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Well it's the fnal everyone expected about 8 weeks ago.. Cookie deservers to win, he has the best voice and has been the most original over the past few weeks. Archie needs a certan type of song - otherwise he just aint good.. However he Archie-ettes wll no doubt be out in force to support ther hero..
Could be very close, but I still reckon (and hope) that Cookie wins it. My bet on him at 10/1 will actually return the my biggest ever single figure sum for any bet I have placed if he does win (4 figure sum). Ok - it has been slightly reduced since I edged on Archie and Syesha, but it will still be a tidy sum (as will it will be if Archie wins - albeit a smaller amount)
Anyhow..
Come on David Cook

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Wow..Looks like little David holds the aces...
Quote:
David Archuleta May Have Won American Idol
"You came out here to win and what we have witnessed was a knockout," said judge Simon Cowell, making it pretty clear David Archuleta should be the next American Idol.
Make no mistake about it, both Davids were good. David Cook performed admirably but Simon put it best....Archuleta came out for the kill.
Coming into Tuesday night's show, Archuleta had become an 8/5 underdog at Sportsbook.com
Archuleta entered the competition as the winner of the Junior Singers competition on Star Search. Archuleta started singing when he was six because he was inspired by Les Misérables 10th-anniversary concert: Live at the Royal Albert Hall video (starring Colm Wilkinson, Lea Salonga and others) he was watching, "That musical is what started all of this." He started performing as an entertainer at ten years old when he participated in the Utah Talent Competition singing "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton; he received a standing ovation, and won the kid division.
Archuleta has maintained an impressive fan base throughout the season. It can be argued that he has the better voice. Cook, however, is a good singer but he's also a rocker who has received praise for his originality. Along with Chris Daughtry, David Cook is very probably among the show's most original contestants thus far.
Idol betting was brisk throughout the week heading into Tuesday night's show. At least a million dollars was anticipated to have been bet on the show since the start of the season. Most of the bets were under $50.

Re: American Idol - Season 7
Punters are probably agreeing with DialIdol as Cook is 1.47 and Archuleta 2.62 over at Betfair.
Simon Cowell is a right cunt. He wants Cook to win (mainly because of all the baggage Archuleta brings) but because of last night's performance he's rooting for Archuleta? Make up your mind, you high-trousered tool!
I haven't placed any bets as to who'll win this (honest!) but I hate how Simon wants every piece of the pie he can lay his grubby mitts on. It doesn't matter who wins and why as they'll both get a record contract.
