Watched it tonight..

Interesting, the biggest girly cheers were for David (not surprising) and the annoying Danny.. As I said earlier Danny could be the new Sanjaya – albeit a slightly better singer

David
The Aussie boy had a shocker as far as I was concerned. I don’t think he is going to hit all the song variations that face him. Interestingly the judges (who obviously want to keep him in), were guarded with their criticism, knowing that he is in the dreaded 1st song – slot of death…

Anyhow..Diasappointing for one of the fave’s..

Jason Castro
He obviously has the shy but good looking image… The Swampy haircut is a bit annoying though.. Crap vocal tonight but not particularly strong – got his guitar again which is obviously a novelty at the moment..Will get through though..

Luke
Another one for the girls Good looking – but with a pretty shite voice..Almost sqwarky tonight…Freddy Mercury song too strong for him....Can’t believe how positive the judges were (apart from Simon of course..) Could be a goner..

Robbie
Rock dude that used to be a boyband type. Has an ok rock voice, but nothing stunning or original..Could be a goner – although the rock-lovin audience may be in force with the votes..

Danny
Hmmm…He annoys me, but he did have the best performance so far – although he didn’t exactly blow the crowd away.. (He had a girlfriend??!? Yeah right – in name only..)

David Henandez
Wow – He aint got charisma off stage (and I still don’t think he has that much on-stage), but having said – he made ‘papa was a rollin stone’ his own tonight with a great vocal..Best by far - so far…He’ll pass, but he aint gonna win..

Jason Yeagor
Oh shit – he’s a multi-instrument playing dude..Although he’s coming across as a bit of twat at the preview tape.. He’s annoying with his cheesy grin..(You wouldn’t have thought I had money on him to go tonight..?)

Actually his voice aint as bad as some of the others, although not great…Bugger....

Havin said that the judges were amazingly critical towards him..Excellent…They don’t want him in…Just shows you how the judges don’t want him in..

Chikeze
I like this guy. As I said before - big strong voice and undeserving as the favourite to go… Good performance..Hmm Still 130’s on Betfair as well....

David Cook
Between him and the other rock dude Robbie – he is much better – plays the guitar and has a MUCH better voice.. I’d say one of the the best vocals of the night so far.. Oooohhh…Upset Simon though…

David Archuleta
Cue girly screams..…..’Ickle David..The young girls want to kiss him and the older women want to mother him..

Nice performance by the golden boy.. Judges blown away !! The boy gonna go a long way…


Well Davd is definitely the one to beat at this time and worthy favourite.. I’m almost tempted to take the 5/2 with Paddypower even at this early stage .. But I shall hang fire..

Ok – I do have money on Jason Yeagor to go tonight, and if it wasn’t for the damning comments by the judges I would be very uneasy. However he looks like a dead man walking now

As for the other goner, I’d say its between Luke and Robbie, but to be honest, I think this comp has room for only one rocker so it’s bye bye Robbie..

Having watched the girls sing tonight I am absolutely gobsmacked that Alaina got the boot

Ok..Again I'm dipping me toes in the antepost market of AI, even though my first bet was a bit of an embarasssment...

I know that David is dominating the market like no-one before on American Idol at such an early stage..Odds on for gods sake !! so...I've re-evalued the Female market and looked for some value, and I think I may well have found it with Brooke White... She certainly has a querky appeal as the bible bashin, whiter than white innocent girl. Her profile is quite unique, and she does come across as a really nice girl. Coupled with the fact that she has a decent voice and plays an instrument she is definately different, and I think AI re crying out for a different profile..

9's for Brooke as Top Female is a great price as far as I'm concerned, so I'm convinced that this bet will last a bit longer than my Alaina bet..

I've no idea what songs they'll be singing. The song selection leaks for American idol seemingly aren't as strong as they for say, The X Factor.

I think at this early stage the song selections arent that influencial as I think the judges are literally handpicking the final 12, and this has been reflected with the odds for pre-12 eliminations which have tended to be very reliable (as they were last year...)

That said I 've of course gone agaisnt the grain and gone for a high odds bet this week...

Yikes..Amanda 4/9 !! She was also on my shortlist but you cannot take that sort of price!! Methink it’s the battle of the blondes tonight between Kady and Kristy, and unfortunately although Kady is fit and does a mean Britney impression, she aint great with her own voice and she has this annoying bitchy looking face when she’s criticised…

Kady to be eliminated – 6.5 pt stake @ 4/5

Yikes (again).. Luke 4/9 – another near-cert but 4/9..? Too short.. As for the rest, it is tight, and I therefore will risk a high odds bet. Chikeze..I like him.. However he appears to not have too much of a following. Still…I think a black male singer should be in the top 12.. David Cook doesn’t look the part but he has a good voice and he is the only ‘rock’ type left in there and therefore should have support.. That leaves David Henandez… He IS expendable.. Ok his ‘papa was a rollin stone’ was great, but I feel he pulled off the performance of his life last week and unfortunately he is bland, boring, has no charisma, and no ‘x factor, therefore if he doesn’t perform to the standard of last week he could well struggle and therefore the 4/1 looks great..

Well it appears that David Cook was the star of the show, which is good news as he was second favourite for the chop.. It seems that David Archueta wasn't very good but I'm sure his fanbase should keep him in.. Mixed feedback for David Henandez who tackled a Celine Dion song.. Its usually carnage when a Female tackles a Celine/Whitney song.. I'm still hopeful Sounds like Luke is a definate goner

Good news on the female side as Kady is cut from 4/5 to 4/6 as Amanda is eased slightly to 1/2
