Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Well Chris, Suzanne and Gareth look a class above the rest (altho Chris is no doubt a class above Suzanne and Chris)..

Aggie's tumble probably helped her support, and Jason's comments also add to this, meaning that she could well survive again..

As I'm sure you know, I hate Greg Rusedski (nothin personal mind), and the way he bottled the lift and changed it in training has obviously pissed off Jason and Ruthie and this could mean everything if he is in the bottom 2 with either Steve or Aggie..

Greg must go !!!!

Zaraah Abrahams: 19 out of 30
Gareth Gates: 20.5 out of 30

Paddy's odds after they've all performed...

I'd lay Aggie on Betfair but these are the prices right now...

I havent thrown more money at Greg to go, but I have a nice bet on Steve to beat him on the match bets and I have a feeling tonight will be the deciding moment either way...

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Aggie finally out as she loses 5-0 to Steve. I was weary about why her price was seemingly so high on Betfair compared to Paddy Power.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

All I can say is that Greg must have got some bizarre sect voting for him....

Whats goin on? The guy is stiff as fuck..The judges don't particularly like him...He bottles the moves..And he's Canadian... and yet he still hasnt gone up for the skate off..? ..

Have we got some kind of 'luvvy Wimbledon is tops, fnarrr fnarr' voting viewers or what !!!???

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Today's Bettingzone Market Moves:

1200: Chris Fountain is now the odds-on favourite for Dancing On Ice after another table-topping performance on the rink at the weekend.

Paddy Power has cut the Hollyoaks actor to 10/11 from 5/2 to win the ITV skating show, with Gareth Gates the 5/2 second favourite.

Although still the leading lady in the betting, Suzanne Shaw's broken rib has done her no favours and the former Hear’Say star has drifted to 7/2 from 5/2.

Meanwhile Steve Backley, in the skate off yet again this weekend, is the 11/8 favourite to be eliminated next with fellow sportsman Greg Rusedski expected to be his nearest challenger on the slippery slope to the exit at 9/4.

Sharon McHugh, Paddy Power’s reality betting expert, said: "Steve is skating on very thin ice. There’s only so many skate-offs a contestant can survive before they finally slip-up. And if Judge Jason finally gets his way Backley should be the next to go."

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Suzanne's price is starting to like rather large again.. Not convinced that Chris is nailed on, although he has certainly a worthy favourite at the moment.

I've said enough about Greg, but I honestly think if he can get in the skate off he'd be history against anyone - even Steve!

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

*Warning..Low odds haters look away..*

I was quite surprised to see Suzanne's odds as Best Female at 8/15, as I would have pegged her at least at 1/3, such is the standard of her skating above the rest of the girls.. I know she has been a tad injury prone recently, but that aside she is really showing her quality and this is reflected by the fact that she has been given so much tougher routines than the other girls. Maybe the introduction of Zaraah is a factor, but latecomers rarely do well in these type of shows.. Even at this moderately early stage I cannot see Suzanne not being in the Final...

I have big hopes (as well as big investments) in Suzanne..Don't let me down girl!!

Suzanne - Top Female - 22 pt stake @ 8/15 (Boylesports)

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Great performance by Suzanne - particularly the 'head banger'..Surprisingly, even though a poor performance by Gareth he is still 2nd favourite behind the apparant 'heir to the throne' Chris with Suzanne in 3rd trading at 5.4

Chris is, admittedly head and shoulders above the rest, but somehow I still can't warm to him, and the fact that he has spent a lifetime ice skating still galls me a tad...

Greg and Steve both showed improvement, and both should be safe. I predict a Tim vs Linda skate off, with Tim the 1.4 hot favourite to piss off back to the States for good...

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Well Tim is out after a skate off against Steve...

Steve is probably gonna get the record for the most skate-off appearances, the way he is going. His ongoing 'feud' with Jason is slightly amusing though..

Without wanting to sound like a stuck record, why oh why are people voting for Greg..? Something isnt right about it.. At least Steve eudes some personaility on the ice and to be honest he isnt that much behind Greg.. Just don't get it..!

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Hmmm. Lazily I'd suggest 'housewives' who are keeping him in the show. I can't imagine it's the tweenie texters or men who'd vote to keep him in.

Glad I forgot uh, ignored it this week as I think I'd have done my bollocks in on Steve Backley being eliminated.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Yesterday's Bettingzone Market News...

1415: Chris Fountain is Sky Bet's 4/9 favourite to win ITV's 'Dancing On Ice' after yet another strong performance on Sunday.

The Hollyoakes star dazzled the crowd as he skated to Cry Me A River with his partner Frankie Poulteney, prompting judge Karen Barber to describe him as "amazing".

Gareth Gates is Sky Bet's second favourite at 7/2 while Suzanne Shaw is next in the betting at 4/1 having impressed with her risk-taking performance with partner Matt Evers.

After another week in the bottom two, Steve Backley is the 5/6 favourite to be the next skater voted off the show while Greg Rusedski is 13/8, Linda Lusardi 4/1 and Zaraah Abrahams is available at 16s.

..and today's Bettingzone Market News!

1120: Punters are getting hot under the collar as Holly Willoughby continues to show her presenting assets on TV hit show ‘Dancing on Ice’.

Now bookmaker Sky Bet reports that it has been inundated with customers backing her to be this year’s FHM sexiest woman in the world, causing the bookie to slash her odds from 40/1 to 14/1.

Holly was 36th in last year’s sexiest women poll and is up against the likes of Jessica Alba and Kelly Brook to win the lads’ mag coveted award 2008.

Helen Jacob, entertainment manager at Sky Bet, said: "The lower Holly’s neckline goes the higher she’ll rise in the world’s sexiest rankings, and we expect to her to make the top ten this year."

============

Odds from Sky Bet:

Who's to say what will happen this coming Sunday!? They had the opportunity to get rid of Steve but they didn't. If Greg escapes being in the bottom two then it'll probably be Steve versus Linda but other than that it's surely unlikely that we're going to get too much of a shock elimination?

Ian Hyland of the News of the World cruelly descirbed Holly as being 'one fake tan shade BEYOND the full Oompa Loompa'.

Well she's got the eyebrows and forehead to be an Oompa Loompa. There's definitely something about her that isn't right.

Oh, and FHM can go fuck itself even if it is under new management.

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Ok – we’re probably half way through or so, so let me review my antepost bets – not that they’re particulary impressive..

Suzanne Shaw to win Dancing on Ice - 10 pt stake @ 5/1 (PaddyPower)
Well, after placing this bet she did touch favouritism, but since that sporadic moment she has drifted out again to a best priced 6/1 Obvious Chris is already champion-elect. I’m trying to guage his actual following and I’m not quite sure what it is? Obviously the judges should keep him in until the Final and he is the obvious winner at this stage. This isnt to say that Suzanne isnt without a sniff, and she is definitely the best female, although I have a slight worry now for latecomer Zaraah. I am not convinced that Suzanne is universally liked either, and I read somewhere that she seems to be trying to hard to be liked (almost Gabby Logan-esqu – and we know what happened to her..) So this could be off-putting, a sentiment I tend to agree with.. Still I reckon she should get to the Final and then I would assume it’s down to audience vote, so I’ve not totally give up

Steve Backley (5/6) v Greg Rusedski - 12 pt stake
God knows about this. Steve is saved every week, and I get the feeling that for once he might avoid the skate off this Sunday. If he does I can see a Greg Linda skate off and.. it’s bye bye Greg.. However people are still voting for him cos he aint been in the bottom 2 yet...

Who knows…

Suzanne Shaw (11/8) v Gareth Gates - 8 pt stake
Jeeez – all these bets are in the air. Gareth had a poor week last week, although I think he probably has the biggest core following to begin with.. I am still confident that if we get to a Gareth/Suzanne skate off the judges would side with Suzanne…

Suzanne - Top Female - 22 pt stake @ 8/15
Bugger you can now get 4/7 for her…Probably due to Zaraah’s recent performances.. Latecomers don’t tend to win, but she is a good elegant skater and with the Coronation backing she could go far...I guess Top Female isnt the stroll in the Park I assumed a week ago..it isnt a stroll in the park. I still am confident mind….Erm..well kind of…

Re: Dancing on Ice (Series Three!)

Well, you would think that, aside from Gregs fan club voting on mass again (), that it will be a Greg v Steve skate off based on tonight's performances. Therefore one of my antepost bets could be ended tonight..

Close to call if it was those 2, as I reckon Jason (obviously!) and Ruthie would save Steve, with Karen and Nicky saving Greg. This would result in the casting vote by Robin which I hate to say it would probably be to save Greg...

Anyhoo, hypothetical, and after all that it'll end up being a completely different skate off !!
