It's that time of year again when celebrities humiliate themselves for the chance of instant infamy just before Christmas! Today's Bettingzone Market News:

1400: Sky Bet has produced a host of wacky wagers ahead of the new series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Previous shows have seen bushtucker delicacies cause celebrities to vomit and Sky Bet offers 6/4 that one of this year’s contestants follows in the same fate. The bookmaker is also offering 20/1 for Ant or Dec themselves to vomit whilst hosting the trials!

Helen Jacob, entertainment manager at Sky Bet, said: "This year’s series promises to be tougher than ever with the celebs being pushed to the limit so we're expecting all manner of injuries, walkouts, fights and faints!"

Indeed Sky Bet had to pay out a fortune last year when they offered 50/1 for two celebrities to have a fight. They were astonished to see a trial end in fisticuffs when Phina Oruche sank her teeth into Scott Henshall’s shoulder! More rumbles in the jungle are on offer at 33/1.

Sky Bet also offer 25/1 for another jungle romance to end in wedding bells after Jordan and Peter found love in the outback in 2004.

The male viewers will be hoping that the odds of 16/1 for Gemma Atkinson to be shown showering naked aren’t such a long-shot and rumours that Dennis Rodman may parachute into the jungle during the series adds value to the 3/1 that a latecomer wins the show.

1210: 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' kicks off on Monday night and Gemma Atkinson is all the rage in the early betting.

The ex-Hollyoaks star is the second favourite at 6/1 in the early prices issued by Paddy Power and has already proved popular.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: "Gemma Atkinson has been giving us jungle fever.

"There's been a lot of action in the betting and she's by far our most popular celeb so far.

"At 6/1 she obviously has something the punters like - but we just can't seem to put our finger on it!"

The 4/1 joint favourites are Five's Jason 'J' Brown and Marc Bannerman, who played Gianni Di Marco in Eastenders.

Richard and Fred Fairbrass of Right Said Fred fame are both 8/1 to go all the way while Apprentice contestant Katie Hopkins is the 4/1 favourite to be punished by the public and take part in a Bushtucker trial first.

Kerry McFadden (as she was then) and Carol Thatcher are the only female winners so far. I doubt Gemma Atkinson can win but if that's the field then she may Phil Tufnell/Joe Pasquale her way to a win if the ante-post support is strong enough.

I'm a sucker for placing ante post bets on reality programmes before the series starts. The key reason for this is that it enables me to look at the contestants and trying to second guess how they will be in the programme and how the audience will react to them..I then balance this up against the price and if I feel there is a decent value price to snap up - which potentially may not last once the series begins - then I jump in! Of course this can backfire every now and then - but hey that's the risk you take..

This has hit me again when I looked at the line up..

Sadly I wasnt quick enough for the 40/1 that Paddy offered, but I still feel that the 33/1 on offer from Boylesports for Koo Stark is great value!!

Koo is the infamous soft porm star in the early 80's that dated 'Randy Andy' (Prince Andrew that is....).. The relationship had to end due to Royal pressure, but to the credit of Koo she never kiss and told - despite being offered loads of money - and much to the delight to the Royalists (many of which follow this reality programme). Now she has moved on since, and done ok for herself, and I reckon this is the time when she comes good..

Contestants with a royal background or connection/posh people tend to do well in this series and I think this sort of audience could well warm to Koo if she enters the jungle unassuming and gets stuck in..

Just think the price is too good to refuse, and therefore I've had a little dabble to commit me to watching the damn thing!!

Lets just hope she is definately entering....

Katie Hopkins looks kind of fair value as David Gest was voted by the public to do a bushtucker trial first and he was backed into 'evens' last year (Jan Leeming was first to do a bushtucker trial BUT was not voted for by the public to do so).

The only thing to worry about is we don't know how viewers will react on first impressions and what not...I mean the likes of Gemma Atkinson, Janice Dickinson, Rodney Marsh and Malcolm McLaren could easily get up the noses of voters instead who'd thus then be willing to vote en masse for one of 'em to do a bushtucker trial.

Oh WATCH OUT for the first elimination market...last year was a minor controversy/massacre when Dean Gaffney and Malandra Burrows were added in a few days into the show but it proved to be Toby Anstis who was the first person eliminated ahead of Dean Gaffney ('the red button fiasco' as voters were asked to vote again after the bottom two were revealed and they had to vote to save not eliminate...instead of saving Toby Anstis they unintentionally voted to get him out. ITV however stood by the result that Toby was eliminated).

Not as bad as Celebrity/Big Brother have been in putting people in late (too many examples of the incredible fuck-ups done by Endemol/Channel 4 to put in) but I suppose ITV won't learn from the mistake of others and we'll see latecomers put on the show to 'liven things up'. Again.
