Gethin Jones – Blue Peter presenter as favourite..? Not sure who he is – looks like the all-action hero though..

Eastenders favourite Letita Dean will have her supports but she appears a little clumpy to me to be the outright winner?

John Barnes will no doubt have the rhythm but will he be another Colin Jackson?

Husband and wife combo Kenny and Gabby Logan..Bit of a novelty I guess, and the old rugby/cricket type player tends to do ok in this so Kenny looks more favourable..

Wayahy!!! Kelly Brook..Worth watchin just for Kelly to be strutting her stuff in dancin gear..Could be an outsider. I reckon she’ll have a bit of rhythm..

Wayhay again..Kate Garraway – the fit bird from GMTV. Another one that is worth watchin!! She will also have her followers and could do very well..

And Wayhay again..BBC are pullin out all the stops to make the males watch this. Aleesha Dixon She is the fit bird from Misteeq…Another one for the shortlist..

What Rod Stewat’s lass – Penny Lancaster – this is getting better!!

Stephanie Beacham..One for the old men!! Still is fit lookin for an old lass, but can’t see her strutting it with the best..

Outsider Dominc Littlewood..Not sure who he is, but he looks more suited to standing the door of a dodgy nightclub more than ballroom dancin !!

Hmmm..No way should you bet until they are seen in action but if I used the old gut feeling I’d go for Aleesha Dixon..

Superficially I think they've got the market right now. I could see Kelly Brook lasting all the way 'til the final three because they need a bit of glamour but Penny Lancaster I suppose could easily fit the bill there. Gethin Jones looks likely to have the housewives vote but it'll be interesting to see if the Irish bloc vote can be invoked in supporting Kenny Logan.

John Barnes could go either way but I can't imagine he'd be as smooth as Colin Jackson was. Alesha Dixon is a bit of an enigma (I wasn't impressed by that music video for 'She Wants To Move' that she appeared in with N.E.R.D. with).

Kate Garraway is a bit Dick Emery to me (awful but I like her) and the GMTV fanbase only carried Fiona Phillips so far (Kate's probably a better hoofer than Fiona was though). Gabby Logan is a newly appointed BBC employee so I suppose she may not be booted out so early.

I can't imagine Letitia Dean will have that much support but who knows?

The official list of contestants will be announced later on today when the BBC can shift it's arse to do so. If this is the list though I think the women have a stronger chance than the men do this year.

Hmmm...Interesting point about the official list, as this list does seem 'top heavy' with women (and we're not talking about Kelly's chest here - or Kate's to a slightly lesser extent..

Hmmm. I have to admit I was confusing Kenny Logan with Johnny Logan (now that would have been a coup!). Will viewers take to the fact that though they're dancing with other people there's a married couple having a go? It just looks odd to me.

I suppose Matt D'Angelo is favourite purely because he's currently in EastEnders. Could easily be a Chris Parker/Louisa Lytton rather than a Jill Halfpenny.

Well I've plumped for Alesha Dixon for the outright.. Sadly the 12/1 isnt available anywhere now, but I managed to find 10/1 (Partybets) and that'll do me..

I disagree about the comments about her dancing in the N.E.R.D.. I thought she moved that booty quite sweetly..

Of all the contestants she looks the one with the most natural ability..

Ok a bit of a stab in the dark at this stage, but I can only see her price falling. Apparently Alesha and her partner are doing the 'Rhumba' to start with. Apparaently a very difficult first dance, but one - if they nail it - could put them into a good early position..

Just been perusing the odds and noticed that Kelly Brook is paired with that annoying tosspot Brendan Cole..Man - does that twat deserve a slap..

However...This could be the dream team..Kelly is the fittest and probably the most well known of the female (and probably male) contestants and Brendan is the most well known dancer.. Something inside me stil seems to tell me that Kelly will turn out to have two left feet, but I am drawn to the 8/1 that Stan James have on her to win..(William Hill go 4/1...) I do like Alesha, but I'll now be also cheering on the buxom brunette that probably can't dance..

Hmmm. Weird anti-Kelly Brook um, ramping over at the Daily Star. This was their front page story for Saturday!

This is precisely the reason why she probably won't win. I think if she's at least half-decent she should finish top five.

Not too many ante-post theories as to what will happen or who'll win the whole thing apart from the usual:

1. EastEnders fans will vote for Matt (well duh).
2. The BBC will try to ensure that Alesha or John will win.
3. Brian will get nobbled by the BBC and have a surprisingly early exit.
4. Producers will pressure judges to get rid of certain folks at certain times (new elimination system this year y'see).

An absolute long shot if the past four series are anything to go by but Boyle Sports has this as one of their specials:

14 couples, 4 judges. I'm taking a chance with £12.50 (as that's all they'll allow me) that one judge will give someone a 10 in the first week.

If you want any indicator as to how hard it is too land such a bet it was only until the third week that someone was given a 10 in the last series.

As much as I hope this bet comes in for you, I really cannot see a 10 appearing on the first show.. Unless we have a shooting star amongst our celebs, surely it would make a mokery of the show's credibility if perfection is shown on the first show, The programme is all about improvement, and improvement on the first show would be difficult to explain to viewers.

Having said that, I aint up on insider politics of the programme and maybe 16/1 is a big price..
