World Chess Championship 2007

Any boring bastards on the board?

In fact i used to like chess when i was a lot younger and was only ever beat once or twice in my lifetime but it can drag on so i jacked it as i just didnt have the time to play it, Kasparov was the main man at the time i last played the game but i have no idea about the current crop of players.

Looking at the following odds there could be money to had for anybody in the know.

World Chess Championship 2007 Book Closes 13 Sep 10:00

Win Only
Viswanathan Anand 2.60 Bet
Vladimir Kramnik 3.20 Bet
Levon Aronian 6.50 Bet
Alexander Morozevich 9.00 Bet
Peter Leko 10.00 Bet
Peter Svidler 10.00 Bet
Boris Gelfand 17.00 Bet
Alexander Grischuk 26.00

Re: World Chess Championship 2007

Anand is a good pick and the bookies know that!

Kramnik is too overrated in my opinion
Leko is the man that I wouldn't expect to win against Gurevich. Yet he won 3.5-0.5! He isn't a player that could get results with black though, he will finish the tournament with 7points 1 loss from Anand, 1 win against Grischuk and 12 draws :P
Morozevich could surprise everyone around he could finish last, he could be 2nd, but I don't think that he will be first.
Aronian can't beat Anand. He could just get 2 draws against him and hope to get points from other players.
Gelfand is a very hard nut to crack. Whoever beats him twice will end first place. But I can't see anyone to do that.
The other players are the points of the tournament.

Keep in mind that this is a tournament that everyone with 14 rounds.

Nice one Pelatis and you seem to know ure chess, Its surprising how posts that we expect folk to know nothing about grab somebodys attention.

I'm of the thought its obscure sports like Chess where money can be made as bookies find it hard to cover and always worth a look so long as somebody knows what there on about.

Re: World Chess Championship 2007

I used to play chess for many years, there is no chess club where I live now...

Pinnacle offer great odds in chess for sure, other bookies slash down the odds. As you know in these kind of matches draw is the best option if you can get it for over 1.50.

You have great advantage in these events by studying the played games. If you have no time for that, then don't bet!

Hmmm. Not long now. William Hill who I don't think have bothered to price up chess since Kasparov versus Short now enter the fray? HUH!?

William Hill's prices:

Vladimir Kramnik 15/8
Viswanathan Anand 19/10
Levon Aronian 4/1
Peter Leko 6/1
Peter Svidler 9/1
Alexander Morozevich 14/1
Alexander Grischuk 14/1
Boris Gelfand 20/1
