Never mind Yorkie Leeds had a good run while it lasted.
Saturdays game should be a belter and i'd say that handicap looks spot on allthough if either of these two teams takes the game by the scruff of the neck they could decimate it.

I have to go with Wigan though as overall this season they have been the better team and seem to be coming good again after a slight lapse towards the end of the season which is fair enough as they knew the league was virtually in the bag, my biggest fear is that Saints on their day could beat most teams as they have an abundance of experience their achilles heel being Cunningham who can no longer do the business for 80 mins, but when he does play Saints look a different side as he controls most of their play.

As i said lst week , if Wigan want to beat Saints they need to go up a gear or two every time Cunningham is rested as thats when Saints are at there most vulnerable, and Saints on Saturday will be even more up for it as this I presume is Cunninghams last game for them. i've also just seen Kyle Eastmond is out for Saints, thats a huge blow for them as he can score when it matters most especially in big games like this.

Wigan look to be relatively Injury free and with Richards hitting form again look likely to rack up points every time he gets a chance, the biggest battle will be in the middle as both sides have formidable packs and it will be intriguing to see who comes out on top , the weather could also play a big part too as its a bit mixed here at the moment in Manchester and I've noticed on the whole Wigan do tend to make mistakes when its pissing down, especially when put under pressure.

Overall though I'm going with Wigan because as a team they do play for the full 80mins and never let up, i imagine Saints will be in their face for the first 40 mins like Leeds were last week and if Wigan can keep within touching distance at half time then i expect them to run the legs off Saints in the 2nd half.

Im going to have to take St Helens, its there year this year. Last 3 years we have beat them in the final so its about time they win one, My pick has nothing towards my hate of the cheats Wigan Only having a small bet on it as i wont be watching it, it doesnt interest me until next year so

Around half an hour to go and looks too clsoe to call. Not worried about betting on the match result, but happy to take the 33's on Francis Meli to win the Harry Sunderland Trophy. Not the most popular among the Saints faithful and always liable to make a mistake in defence. But on attack he is very difficult to stop from close range and could easily score multiple tries, if the platform is set.

Well done Wigan i suppose St Helens will be gutted 4 years going, At least with Wigan winning they will be the ones teams will want to beat next year so puts the pressure of us

Wigan were the only team in it, I thought Saints were a bit of a let down tell the truth and I should imagine they will be kicking themselves this morning for not turning up.
I take nothing away from Wigan though as over the season they were the best side and truely deserve to be crowned champions, I just think Saints could have made a better show of themselves in the final to make it one to remember.

Well thats it for this season and I 'd like to thank all who conrtibuted to the Rugby league threads as it was probably the best input we've ever had, we do have the 4 Nations at the end of the month but apart from that, thats it until next season unless anybody knows of any bookies that takes bets on amateur Rugby league.
