Re: Rugby League 30th July-1st August
Friday nights game should be a stormer as leeds v Wigan games usually are, form wise there's not much between the two allthough Wigan probably have the advantage consistancy wise and my head is telling me Wigan but there's something at the back of my mind screaming Leeds as they usually turn up for the big games at Headingley.
Handicap is neither here nor there but anything is better than nothing and probably worth considering if your backing Wigan as those two extra points could make all the difference, same too with leeds best to take them on the level IMO. Its a close call and i don't know which way to go but will probably have a small bet on the game for 'entertainment' purposes as its on the box tomorrow night. Ehhm , decisions decisions, right I've made my mind up, I'm opting for Leeds mainly because I saw how Wigan rolled over when put under pressure by the Warringon forwards a fortnight ago, Leeds will just be as fearsome and wound up with the addition of experience on their side. Leeds Win on the level @ around evens. The other big game is Warrington v Saints, again nothing much between the two sides, a win for Saints will see them leapfrog Warrington into second place whilst a Win for Warrington consolidates that position, Warrington will also be pissed off that they never took advantage of that cracking Win against Wigan a fortnight ago by following it up with a win against bottom club Catalans last week instead of getting beat. usual story for Warrington mind, they put loads of effort in against a top side then they don't recover in time for the next match and usually end up getting beat. I'm going to give this game a miss i think but if Warrington can put in a performance like they did against Wigan, with Westwood ,Briers and Morley putting in a stormer once more then i can see them edging Saints, but it would have to be on the level as like the Leeds v Wigan game this could be that close, on the level though the odds for Warrington are far to low so I'm not going to take a risk. |

Re: Rugby League 30th July-1st August
Tonights game i can see us losing and going on to winning next week in the cup. All though a win would be nice tonight its not vital, tbh we dont care about the league as fans this year we want to get to wembley again for the first time since we were part of the last challenge cup final at the old wembley. We have got a few players back tonight, Burrows, Webb etc but i think Wigan will be more up for this especially after we knocked them out of the cup. Im going to take the 2.20 going on the Wigan win

Re: Rugby League 30th July-1st August
I don't think the Leeds players will be thinking that Yorkie.
Its not so much the league the players will be thinking about but getting as high up the league as possible to get a decent draw in the playoffs, 2nd spot is still well within their reach and a Win tonight will put the cat amongst the pigeons especially as Warrington play Saints tomorrow. Leeds will be looking for the win tonight hence the recall of Peacock and Senior, its a tight call though Yorkie and good luck. |

Re: Rugby League 30th July-1st August
Tough call, but I think Wire v Saints might just pip Wigan v Saints for the best game of the Year so far. Close throughout, some excellent rugby on display and a tight finish. Thought the Saints youngsters did them proud and James Foster was the Man of the Match for me.

Re: Rugby League 30th July-1st August
Aye it was a cracker, Fosters come on leaps and bounds this year and has a huge future ahead of him, I don't think I've seen him have a bad game yet.
I thought all the Saints players did well mind, when Warrington drew level at 12-12 I thought the writing was on the wall for Saints but they held their nerve and came right back with some cracking play. Overall i think the quality in Suprleague has been great this year with at least a couple of fantastic matches every week which can only be good for the sport. |
