Re: RBS Six Nations 2010

France have gone for 'roof' closed' which may indicate running intent. Total points is 38-41 - too low in my book.

1.5pts BUY total points at 41
1 pt SELL time of first French try at 35 minutes
2 pts BUY France/ Wales points at 8

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010

Bloody Frogs - unable to beat the 'cap. Spreads profitable though.

These two Saturday games are very trappy.

Italy v Scotland

The Spoon showdown. Both teams coming off improved performances. Italy have the stronger pack and with home advantage they could well sneak it . Italy won by 3 points last time these two met in Rome - 2008 - and that sort of margin could be repeated here. Take Italy with a 5 point start that's generally available. Or there's 7/4 for the home win. Can't get excited about punting on this.

4pts Italy win @ 7-4
2pts Italy 1-5 win margin @ 5-1
1pt Alessandro Zanni to score first @ 25-1

Zanni is the mobile in-the-thick-of-it Italy No. 8. Italy tries (if any!) likely to come through forward pressure and Zanni could be the man under the pile.

England v Ireland

Another toss of a coin to find the winner. Ireland are starting to look jaded but Sexton in at 10 could get something going. England were clueless against Italy and are now under press and fan pressure to play one decent game of rugby. Ireland, just.

5pts Ireland win @ evens

Cheers.

Another break in schedule next week. +18 pts so far. All form/ability now thoroughly exposed so hope to build on that.

Read a nice preview article at our friends Punters Realm: One of the highlights of the Rugby Union calendar, the Royal Bank of Scotland Six Nations tournament kicks off on Saturday with current holders of the trophy, Ireland taking on Italy at Croke Park...  Read full article

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010

Wales +8 v Ireland looks very generous (to Wales)
England -4 about right v Scotland
Italy -25 may be worth getting on. For all the Frog win in Cardiff they only scored two tries, both intercepts.

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010

Ireland v Wales

Should be the best game of the weekend - both for rugby and punting. Ireland have had the drop on Wales ever since the Wales Slam and Croke Park is no friend to visiting teams. But I'm not convinced on current form Ireland should be 9 point favourites. They stuttered in their opening game against Italy (29-11, but only 2 tries), were stitched up in Paris and coould well have lost at Twickenham. Wales, despite two first half shambles - Scotland & France - have improvement in them. Can they keep the scores close in the first half? If so Wales is surely the handicap call of the wekkend, and they might just win.

22pts Wales +9 @ 10/11

Scotland v England

A nightmare to call, and probably watch. Real pressure on the two coaches.
England, just, to win but if I was going to punt the handicap (I'm not) I'd probably go Scotland +4. Interesting, perhaps, is billhill's standout 16-1 for no try scorer. Very unusual outcome in rugby. But. England have not gone over at Murrayfield in their last 2 visits. And Scotland have only got 3 tries to their name this 6N. It's possible, and the odds a more than fair.

3pts no try scorer @ 16-1

France v Italy

Handicap probably a bit high. But then again it could be a 35pt blow-out. Two years ago in Paris the score was 25-13 and Italy kept them very honest. There's a bit of gumption about the Eyeties this season.

11pts Italy +25 @ 10/11

Wild punt

Try 3 doubles and the treble on this. If all come in it's serious dosh and any double would be worth having.

Ipt trixie - billhill

HT/FT Ireland/Wales @ 10/1
England by 1-5pts @ 9/2
France by 16-20pts @ 7/1

Stick a quid on it (total stake 4 pounds) and it pays 676.50 if pigs fly.

I'm glad you have confirmed my view of a Welsh win this weekend.
Many of my friends and asssociates have doubted my belief and up to now my only bet has been Wales +9 @ evens with bet365

I'll probably have a double this weekend but I have great difficulty in finding those flying pigs , been looking for years

WELSH HAVE SIX APPEAL: Betting Zone - Racing Betting, Football Betting, Golf Betting, Sports Betting, Cheeky Punt

long-winded, woolly betting write up for the weekend. Yet it's hard to disagree with punt conclusions.

+ 9 about Wales is a steal. But I've been wrong before.

Wouldn't call it a steal but I think the books aren't that far wrong. I'm expecting Ireland to win (& not just because I'm Irish).
I don't believe Wales will be given the space that they got in the second halves against Eng/Sco/Fra. Wales are wonderfull to watch when they click but imho there are too many enforced changes to get any change out of what is a pretty much unchanged Irish squad.

Expecting Ireland to win by two scores, the +9 could then in theory make it but I won't be taking it. Tbh I think the -8 @ evens SJ is the better bet.

In any case Ireland will win

Why?

Because I said so

Beat that for unbiased analysis
