Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
The changes to French team don't make a huge differnce. They lose muscle with Clerc instead of Rougerie but gain experience with Malzieu over Fall. The others changes will not affect either team's gameplan. Even if Ferris does play he won't last 80.
Irelands last visits to France have seen them playing "catchup" after 20/30mins & I can't believe they'll allow that to happen this time. France 9-10 are flaky at the best of times (the weakest part of the team imo) & if Ireland can get ahead or even stay in touch after the 1st half French heads will drop quickly. I'm also impatient to see BOD run rings around Bastagros. The lad is a monster but is not the sharpest knife in the drawer & easily frustrated, yellow anyone?? The French should edge the scrum but then Italy were going to explose Hayes et al............ Didn't happen & won't happen on Saturday imo, too much experience there. In view of what happened at the WE this game has to be seen as the final. None of the other teams have shown anything that can seriously trouble either Ireland or France. England were flattered by the scoreline, Wales can play beautiful rugby but sadly not for 80mins & unfortunately, though brave, Scotland & Italy will have to fight to avoid the wooden spoon. I took Ireland +6 10/11 Lads. Expect England to beat the -13 10/11 Lads & Wales -9 10/11 also Lads. For those looking for better odds may I suggest Ireland @15/8 Lads. Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
hi snodser , totally agree with you about france's 9/10 , they did not impress me last sunday [ i'm a fan of Elissalde, who is not available], the french backrow was powerful and it the battle btween the two backrows that will decide the match , I think that home advantage will be too much this weekend

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
Very hard to get to punting grips with Frogs v Ireland; on the back of their second half efforts last week.
Both looking over their shoulders to Paris. France, just, for me. I like England and Wales on handicap. Off to the Philippines this w/e. Will plug in punts Saturday morning. Jeez, if you don't have a bet on this stuff the rugby on display would hardly have you bouncing on the sofa. |

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
Greetings from sunny Baguio, 25 degs etc. Up in the hills in northern Philippines. Briefly...
Wales v Scotland So Scots will score 9 points from the Paterson boot. Can Wales score 20 odd to beat the spread? Yes. 22pts Wales -10 @ 10/11 1pt Wales/Scotland shirts @ 17 France v Ireland Frogs to win, perhaps by 10. But then again the spread of around 5 could be about right. Small dabble. 7pts France -5 @ evens Italy v England Italy at home... could give England a scare etc. Think England will click tomorrow in Rome. 12pts England -14 @ evens There you go. How's that for analysis! |

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
The Italy v England game was the worst gane of rugby I've seen for a long while and had everything i hate about Rugby union rolled into one match, near the end i was actually hoping Italy would win the game to give their fans something to shout about who i felt sorry for having to endure that shite. I was sick of seeing England just kicking the ball and running down blind alley's, and how fcuking hard can it be to throw the ball straight in a lineout.

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
Ireland +2 is a cracking bet at 365 and a few others v England this w/e at Twickenham.
It's time to stop thinking England will come good as the current lack of any adventure/flair is in the management's DNA. Ireland to bounce back from Paris and win. |

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
A six nations match on Friday is a strange phenomena
these odds from bet365 Wales +6.0 10/11 Hcap Tie - France -6.0 16/1 France -6.0 10/11 Match Result Wales 2/1 Tie 20/1 France 2/5 Wales' squad Wales: Lee Byrne (Ospreys); Leigh Halfpenny (Cardiff Blues), James Hook (Ospreys), Jamie Roberts (Blues), Shane Williams (Ospreys); Stephen Jones (Scarlets), Richard Rees (Blues); Paul James, Huw Bennett, Adam Jones (Ospreys), Bradley Davies, Deiniol Jones (Blues), Jonathan Thomas (Ospreys), Martyn Williams (Blues), Ryan Jones (Ospreys, capt) Replacements: Ken Owens (Scarlets), Rhys Gill (Saracens), Luke Charteris (Newport Gwent Dragons), Sam Warburton (Blues), Mike Phillips (Ospreys), Andrew Bishop (Ospreys) , Tom Shanklin (Blues). Richie Rees starts at scrum half whilst Phillips is on the bench after only 40 minutes last weekend following his long layoff due to injury , we have the Ospreys front row , Blues second row , so it looks like we are going for team work to combat the French pack. Thomas move into the backrow to replace the golf buggy driver Powell may help us in the lineout. From what I saw of France v Ireland we will struggle unless the French can be rocked early on . I do not have much confidence of that happening. I'm a great believer in the backrow domination being the key here the French are in the supreme. I'm having great difficulty in betting . I may give this match a miss on the betting front |

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
- 14 pts after a very patchy weekend two weeks ago. Hope to get back on track on Friday, 8.00pm.
Wales v France Yup, France look the goods for sure with at last a settled side and are surely a lock for the Slam. A few injuries but nowt to worry about as their Second XV would beat 3 teams in this tournie (includes England!). Frogs in Cardiff is set up to be a cracker, although I'm not sure the result will be all that close. Wales shipping tries to Scotland - Pie prediction, Scotland not to go over all game - was a worry. I see it as 5 tries to 2 in favour of the visitors, so will be looking to buy the total points on the spread if quoted around 40 (not up yet). Meanwhile, fairly confident about:22pts France -6 @ 10/11 Sorry about that, Traeth! |

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
That 5 tries to France may sound an inflated call, but in the last three games Wales have given up
4 tries at home to Australia (Aus beaten previous week in November by Scotland) 3 tries to England (a backline who would have trouble scoring against a Jellyfish XV) 2 tries to Scotland (whose incisive try scoring video for the past 3 years is 10 seconds long) It used to be said that 'who knows what French team will turn up?'. One full of power and flair now seems to be the immediate answer. |

Re: RBS Six Nations 2010
I'm in agreement with you pie , but it won't be a 22pts bet , my max is 10 pts
we were very lucky against scotland , even a draw would have been unfair to them ...we only dominated when they were down to 13 men , our performance against england was abysmal , we are desperate at scrummy ...phillips is on the bench after only 30 minutes of play following a 3 month off injured. Could be worth a 22 point bet after all pie |
