Tri Nations Rugby Union
Starts on Saturday , note the early start
To win outright Tri-Nations New Zealand @1.91 paddies South Africa @3.5 bet365 Australia @5 paddies i believe finding the winner of the tri-nations is in selecting the team that can win away , i'm a fan of the All Blacks but their performances against the Northern Hemisphere sides have been mistake ridden , Australia have failed to impress against Ireland and a much weakend France , which they play again on Saturday. South Africa did the business against Wales and were the most efficient if the three in these warm up matches so far. Any opinions out there before I risk my money on New Zealand or should I go for South Africa ? Fixtures Saturday, 05 July 2008 Tri-Nations Series New Zealand v South Africa, 8:35 Saturday, 12 July 2008 Tri-Nations Series New Zealand v South Africa, 8:35 Saturday, 19 July 2008 Tri-Nations Series Australia v South Africa, 11:05 Saturday, 26 July 2008 Tri-Nations Series Australia v New Zealand, 11:05 Saturday, 02 August 2008 Tri-Nations Series New Zealand v Australia, 8:35 Saturday, 16 August 2008 Tri-Nations Series South Africa v New Zealand, 14:05 Saturday, 23 August 2008 Tri-Nations Series South Africa v Australia, 14:05 |

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
SA were hardly awe inspiring in the second welsh test nor against the italians but they have an excellent squad. NZ have the first two games at home so have a big advantage.
Cant see any great risk in backing NZ(no great value either though). |

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
these odds from bet365 , handicap not that high pie , i accidentaly missed a few fixtures on my initial post , sorry for any confusion.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
bloody bookies -6 is a shite of a handicap. If Nz play well they should win by 12+ if they continue as is they may only scrape a win. No bet for me at those prices.

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
New Zealand: Mils Muliaina; Sitiveni Sivivatu, Conrad Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Rudi Wulf; Daniel Carter, Andy Ellis; Tony Woodcock, Andrew Hore, Greg Somerville, Brad Thorn, Ali Williams, Adam Thomson, Rodney So'oialo (capt), Jerome Kaino.
Replacements: Keven Mealamu, Neemia Tialata, Anthony Boric, Sione Lauaki, Jimmy Cowan, Stephen Donald, Leon MacDonald. South Africa: Conrad Jantjes; Odwa Ndungane, Adrian Jacobs, Jean de Villiers, Bryan Habana; Butch James, Ricky Januarie; Gurthro Steenkamp, John Smit (capt), CJ van der Linde, Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger, Juan Smith, Joe van Niekerk. Replacements: Bismarck du Plessis, Brian Mujati, Andries Bekker, Luke Watson, Bolla Conradie, Francois Steyn, Percy Montgomery. NZ have a definite advantage in the backs but the Boks look awesome from 4-8. Have'nt seen anything from the summer tests to suggest the Boks can keep within 9 of NZ or that DeVilliers is an international standard coach(yet). |

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
i gather that the weather prediction is cold and windy for Wellington
This should benefit the All Blacks . I think it will be very close for the first 60 minutes and that New Zealand will take advantage of the gaps in the S.A. defence in the final 20 minutes .With the high winds predicted I can see the All Blacks testing the S.A. wingers a nd fullback with some high balls South Africa have not beaten the All Blacks in New Zealand since 1998. I have gone on the New Zealand -6 @ 1.91 I'm also considering South Africa/New Zealand ht/ft @7 |

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
Good luck with those Snodser ! Cold windy and wet Wellington should see:
18pts under 41.5 total pts NZ-SA @ 5/6 10pts NZ 1-12pts @ 2.75 The NSW TAB offer a huge price on something that is a live possibility in a low scoring game... 2pts HT/FT South Africa/Draw @ 66-1 Rain in Brisbane but Aus should run away with it v France. 3pts BUY Aus/Fra pts @ 20 |

Re: Tri Nations Rugby Union
NZ were impressive, SA headless in second half, ref was very biased, ELV's have done nothing to impress me so far.

was really close with the All Blacks within 5m of the line in the last 5 minutes, wind picked up towards the end.
