The same 1 winner , 1 loser for me as well pie , ended up level on the money front but now that Wales have won the triple crown and going for the grand slam next week I feel like a winner

Re: Six Nations 2008

today i'm going with a small bet on h.t. handicap of Italy +11 with skybet , hoping that Lievremont "tinkering" with the team will result in a poor start , the starting 15 have only six survivors from the starting side that lost to England , they have three new caps and two new boys on the bench.
Italy first half against Wales was impressive annd they collapsed after that Shanklin intercepted try.
Quite a few matches in this year's six nations have had two very different halves , so here's hoping for a poor first half from France and a good one from Italy. Having a think about Italy/France h.t./f.t. @12 with betfair

Hi traeth, I believe you're from the valleys.
Any thoughts on Wales-France?.
I know you're busy at Cheltenham so maybe you have'nt looked yet.
The Frogs seem to be sending the big guns. Apparently the last time they lost in Wales (6 nations only) was 1996so maybe you can give some "local" insight.

Cheers

Here in Wales we gone Grand Slam mad , it is seem to be the only topic of conversation . They are showing the old classic film "Grand Slam" on BBC 2 Wales tomorrow. I yet to talk to anyone that thinks we cannot do it , but that is typical of our mentality.
The transformation that Gatland and Edwards have achieved is amazing.
Last week the way Wales played when down to 14 men twice was an excellent team perfomance considering how influential those two players are.
The French performance on Sunday against Italy did not impress me even though they did look good in some parts.I believe the reason for the inconsistancy is due to their chopping and changing which they have continued with 6 changes for Saturday. France need to win by 20 points to win the championship , difficult to see that and the disappointment when they realise that 10 minutes into the second half will see the French collapse.

I've gone with Wales -4 @2.0 with bet365 .

this post is totally biased as i'm also caught up in the grand slam fever

I like Wales as well. Suggested last week a Ire/Wal HT/FT bet which came in at 7-1. Might be worth looking at this again if you like Wales in this.

Wales have scored 73% of their '08 6N points in the second half.

Fra/Wal HT/FT is 13-2 with Bet365

... And Italy should score 2 tries in Rome which will be enough to overcome Scotland penaly pots.

Italy win at 10/11

England v Ireland -- god knows. Shade it to England.

Re: Six Nations 2008

I don't think Wales will have much trouble tell the truth as they have played Brilliantly all this series once they get into gear, France like England are going through an interim period as all teams do and they have both been found wanting in these championships.

Can see Wales winning this quite comprehensively for the thousands of fans watching and by a lot more than the -4 on offer, I'd say Wales are at least 10-15 points better than the French.

Scotland should also have their tails up after last weeks win against England and will be going out to avoid the wooden spoon by signing off with a win rather than depending on points scored, I'll risk taking Scotland @ +1 for what its worth as if the match is so close and comes down to Kicking then I'll put my money on Paterson any day of the week.

England v Ireland has the makings of a tight affair with England having everything to prove with Ashtons job on the line, personally i think Ashton has out stayed his welcome and the powers that be including the players have reservations about him, they couldent sack him after getting England to the WC final on a hope and a prayer but they can after a dismal 6 nations.

Once again I'm willing to take Ireland at those odds at +6 as not even taking the above into account i think they are a better team which have leadership both on and off the field unlike the English.

Ireland win + 6

Re: Six Nations 2008

I'm backing Italy, Ireland and Wales..

Italy because they're at home.
Ireland because they never turn down an oppurtunity to beat England, the english team are unhappy with Ashton and know he's finished anyway so not very motivated.
Wales, well how could you bet against wales at home for the Grand slam can't be done.

Bets of luck to all
