Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

Now this is intimidating as fuck. I've done it once before and was lucky to get back under $400 from a $200 investment back in 2003 (stupid Women's World Cup! I lost around $600! ).

Now unfortunately for me, the deposit bonus is mandatory (I've asked around on the American gambling forums. I've asked Bodog.).

I've put in $250 and they've given me a $25 bonus. This means I have to gamble $1375 before I can even withdraw any money ($275 x 5 = $1375).

Who'd be stupid enough to gamble with Bodog then? Oh me.

So why have I bothered? I just like some of the odds.

BET 1; $100 at 2/1 that Tom Cruise (War of the Worlds) will win Worst Actor.

If the Razzies get political (and I hope they do) like last year when they gave the award to George W. Bush they'll give it to the guy who'll give the awards a big amount of press by winning it....and that's Tom Cruise.

http://www.plume-noire.com/movies/aw...zzies2005.html

BET 2: $100 at 3/2 that Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Oprah Winfrey's Couch, The Eiffel Tower & "Tom's Baby" will win Most Tiresome Tabloid Target

Recent shenanigans suggest that this is what they'll go for.

That's $200 down, $75 left and $1175 to go. Can you guess where this is going? I ain't gambling with their fooking casino or poker just to try and clear this bonus (I'm not that stupid).

Get rich or die tryin' indeed. Oh dear, what the hell have I let myself in for?

Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

Nothing fancy for my third bet. Dubai women's tennis. Either I have to wait a couple of Saturdays to see whether or not I've done in $250 in or I get the ball rolling here.

Do you pick:

a. Justine Henin-Hardenne (-450) to beat Francesca Schiavone (+275)?
b. Amelie Mauresmo (-600) to beat Svetlana Kuznetsova (+350)?
c. Neither?

Well I'm forcing myself to pick one and it's....

BET 3: $75 on Amelie Mauresmo (-600) to beat Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Total staked: $275. Remainder left? $1100 to go.

Not big. Not clever. And yeah, all it takes is one wrong move and then it's ALL gone. Fingers crossed it doesn't start with this one.

Typical isn't it - i am sure she had to win this game to break her previous record of most wins in a row.

She is a man anyways - should never be allowed in the womens tennis.

Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

Continued BLUERGH!!

Winners of the Razzies seem to have been announced but they're not releasing the details until Saturday night 7:30pm PST/Sunday morning 3:30am GMT.

http://www.razzies.com/forum/forum_p...642&PN=1#reply

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes as Most Tiresome Tabloid Target
DIRTY LOVE as Worst Picture
Rob Schneider as Worst Actor for DEUCE BIGALOW 2
Jenny McCarthy as Worst Actress for DIRTY LOVE
Hayden Christensen, Worst Supporting Actor for STAR WARS III
Paris Hilton, Worst Supporting Actress for HOUSE of WAX
SON OF THE MASK as Worst Remake or Sequel
Will Ferrell & Nicole Kidman as Worst Screen Couple
John Asher as Worst Director for DIRTY LOVE
Jenny McCarthy’s script as Worst Screenplay for DIRTY LOVE

I've lumped £75 over at The Greek on Dirty Love to win Worst Picture at odds of 2/1 just in case the above really are the winners (I suspect they are and it's a faux pas by the site administrator).

I feel sick that Tom Cruise isn't going to win Worst Actor but I won the other one which means I somehow have to gamble $1100 from $250.

.....I can't see it happening. :

They are the winners. They've even removed the thread. They dropped a faux pas.

Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

http://www.razzies.com/history/05winners.asp

A few punters have sent me PMs on the Razzies forum and a 'Stinky O'Reilly' wants to know how I knew the winners. How do you think I knew the winners?! I stole the results from your office?! They were up on the forum as a poll before the forum admin realised thery were up a day early, you twit.

The Greek haven't paid up (I fear I may have been a bit loudmouth in my denouncements of the above being winners and The Greek may not pay me as the winners were in public knowledge before they were announced) and Bodog haven't yet.

Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

Bodog have finally paid me my $250. Time for Oscars:

BET 4: $150 on Reese Witherspoon at 1/7 to win Best Actress (to win $21.43).
BET 5: $100 on NO that the orchestra will start playing music and interrupt the acceptance speech of the Best Actress winner at this year's Oscars (to win $71.43).

Total staked: $525. Remainder left? $850 to go.

Well you know how sure bets go. I don't expect to lose these though.

In lieu of having no Sky Movies package, I've been following them through updates on BBC Radio Five or Oscarwatch.

Unbelievable that Crash won Best Picture but hey, I bought into the hype. Other UK gamblers though bet on Crash like crazy....and it won.

Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

Should have bet on Man Utd to beat Wigan but if I hadn't had slept through that, I'd have been pissing myself (honestly I would). Should have bet on some of the NBA matches but I forgot about 'em (I'd have only bet the ML on a few games though).

NEW BANK: $342.86

BET 5: $52.86 on Wolves at (-167) to beat Stoke City (to win $31.65)
BET 6: $48 on Gretna at (-700) to beat Dumbarton (to win $6.86)
BET 7: $50 on Juventus at (-260) to beat Werder Bremen (to win $19.23)

Stoke should lose but they're capable of having the occasional good match day. Put the money on Gretna and Juventus as a bit of a laugh. Only $150.86 staked (could have placed 'em in a double or treble but I've gotta clear the required remainder).

The above are not logical bets, provide a poor return-for-investment ratio and look to be dumb bets and a quick way to the poorhouse if they all don't come through....good luck to me then.

Bank: $192 Total staked: $675.86. Remainder left? $699.14 to go.

Re: stereoman's Bodog Suicide Mission (betting $1375 from a $275 deposit)

I must be crazy. I'll add another bet. I tried to make it a double of Villareal at (-227) to beat Rangers and Barcelona/Chelsea over 2.5 goals (-130) but I can't have it as a double. Oh well it may save me, it might not.

The world and it's wife are on the former. Let's go Villareal! :drums

BET 8: $42 on Villareal at (-227) to beat Rangers (to win $18.50)

Now these are terrible odds in the grand scheme of things but I can't quibble because I chose to play at Bodog.

Bank: $150 Total staked: $717.86. Remainder left? $657.14 to go.

....could be a 'good' night.
