My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
I think I can beat that no problem at all, in my gambling hayday (sp? a word even?) I'd be withdrawing £60-100 a day from Betfair both backing and laying, Friday BAGS action was bloody wild popping in and out of an internet cafe and a bookies to watch races! The run on Betfair started with a £28 liability on the lay, no idea what the odds were but I remember depositing that amount in my account.
Tomorrow might not be the best day for me to get started, as I wont be around for most of it, but I'm going to get to £328 in 8 days from £28.
The Legendary Fats Brown tells it like it is... Fats: Look, I've come a long way, boy, and not to be fooled with. I've seen your kind before - a little skill, a knack, a style, but when the heat's on, you fold. Jesse: That isn't fair! You've never seen me play. Maybe I can beat you. It's possible, isn't it? Fats: It's possible. Things change. Records get higher. But you'll never get the job done with your mouth
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
Some quick maths. I wouldve assumed the easiest way of doing this is to lay 100% of the bank on each of the 21 dogs over the next 8 days, which would require minimum odds of roughly 8.0
Difficult on Betfair, there can be chronic liquidity on the dogs some days, as low as 2k being matched on some later BAGS races, I do have confidence in myself but this is doomed for the sh1t heap.
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
Ok, first possible Bet tomorrow will be in the Hall Green 1.19, a Lay of WINETAVERN TANGO... I know I will not get a price of less than 8's but I'll be around to watch it.
It needs to lead, it needs space, theres 4 dogs inside it that get him to the first bend and 3 wide runners in the race, all of them are faster over the circuit. This one will be at party prices I have no doubt.. and rightfully so considering a 2 grade hike. Otherwise the graders at Hall Green have done a good job in putting up a right chunt of a card tomorrow morning.

Onto Stow and straight away I'd lay the 6 in the first race... if it wasnt the first race! Likely to be a big price again but nevermind.. I will find one, I need to find 3 if I'm not to make my attempt impossible (should this go on a few days)

Thanks MITK, its appreciated.
I've had one RAGS to RICHES attempt on the PL many moons ago and didnt do too bad, managed to get £1 upto £29 in a day, sadly fell short of my £100 in 1 day target.. those were the days eh
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
Thing i found with laying dogs is that your laying at alomost triple the SPs . Laid 1 only last week , my mate rang me from the track to say it had no chance ,was looking very fat etc . Laid it at 5.6 , and it opened 7/4 on course !!! went out to 5/2 soon after ,but drifted to 9 on Betfair !!! Should really be a player than a layer at those odds , anyway it duly ran last BUT its impossible to win when laying 3 times the SP imo
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
I presume that wasnt a BAGS race?
What you tend to find on Betfair is that dogs are given their true value almost all of the time, which of course means it works the other way aswell, often youll find people backing dogs heavily BELOW the bookies price! Thats a practice I've never understood but it goes on. Youre looking at the price shift in your last post in totally the wrong way, the apparently out of sync SP's are actually a reflection of the scoundrel bookmakers (especially the high street, who tend to see most punters fire on ridiculous F/c and T/c bets) thieving odds. Just because a dog is 6/1 in Ladbrokes or Star Racing, it doesnt necessarily mean the 12/1 on Berfair is a value bet (obv is in some cases), it just means that the Bookmaker is offering hideously shite odds.
Anyway, other possible Stow bets from morning action in list form..
11.57 T4 ZARAS LUCK
12.27 T4 CLASSY PILOT
1.12 T3 RODOLFOS SECRET
To be honest theres none there I'm particularly sure of, but may end up playing one or two through the afternoon.
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
Thats me just awake
Couldve laid the following
WS 11.11 Quiescent Image - lost by a mere 9 lengths
WS 11.57 Zaras Luck - finished last but only 4 lengths off
WS 12.27 CLASSY PILOT - no idea where it finished but it missed the front 3
I shall be on all afternoon chaps. So keep 'em peeled for some top TDP action doggy style
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
Still to make a bet, the two dogs I mentioned in the 1.12 and 1.19 were non-starters and I've no idea why I picked them last night. Especially the dog in the 1.19 which was actually pretty quick and I think mightve won that race!
Anyway, I know when to fold on the dogs, just need to wait for the right one to play.
Re: My record run of winning greyhound bets is 21, over 8 days, being up £300
Well, that was the plan, as I was placing my bet on Betfair I opened this page quickly to post it on here for the record attempt. By the time my money was down the price had shifted away from 3.7, I stopped typing the above message and changed my bet, but the market suspended.
Its just the way it has to be, drive by betting, going for the top odds, wouldnt want it any other way.
Was just thinking there, the best type of "fuck off " is the following; You`re playing astro, 5 a side, someone shouts "handball" and the "fuck off" response is fucking class.
