Don't forget that you can start mini leagues up at any time of the season for you and your pals (make it invite only) As long as your league admin is putting up fixtures and settling the games then your league will just require you all to just enetr your scores. If you want to have a prediction league on a league that there is no admin on then you will be able to create the league yourself and you'll have to do the admin too.

any questions just ask. I would make it a tenner a head with you and some workmates. they dont even have to be a member of TDP to join. Sign up for them even and just use their email address.
