Re: VALUE
Yeah MrM....I will attempt to do another pick here for those who want a wee bit of interest on the cruise whilst watching to see how your doing in the live update...
Looking at the prices here, it seems just typical poker betting. The prices are shockingly bad and the lack of research/knowledge of the compilers has obviously been made up by a huge overround! Nevermind, this is my field of expertise and not only that I have played against/played with/met a LOT of these players so perhaps I can find a spot for a small bet. Looking from the favourites down - without a doubt you cannot touch ANY player at 80s or less..... This is a 290 strong field, and most people seem to undervalue the amount of luck in a game of poker. NOBODY is as huge a favourite as the 34.00 quoted on the favourites. Yes, Donnacha, TheSalmon, pkrbt etc are all awesome players with huge successes behind them - but these prices represent NO value at all. I can only assume these prices are so short because ladbrokes know they will take a lot of money on these players. So we have to scroll down a bit until we get to at least 80s or longer imo (and pref more). The key factor in choosing a player here for me is to go for an aggressive one. It doesnt matter if you are a bad aggressive player - you might lose money usually, but if an aggressive player gets lucky then he will win a ton of chips. A bad aggressive player stands far more of a chance to win a tournament outright than a moderatly ok weak tight type does. So who to go for? Looking down the list tehre are plenty of good aggressive scandos and brits at longer prices than the favourites. I met benwoo on the last cruise and he is just a pure gambler...at 101.0 he def has a chance and he took down 30k not so long ago online so he has the balls......DEEPSPACE at 126.00 impresses me highly everytime I play against him online - infact I played against him with a ton of chips when we both qualified for the cruise so he sticks in my memory, definately ladbrokes have underrated him. However I have to go local and pick efesp from Scotland at 151.00 as the best choice for an interest quid. He's qualified both years running early doors, no mean feat in itself. I met him last year and he was a one of the lads never got out the port cos he was at the bar type of bloke - a good crack for sure. Behind all that tho he struck me as an extremely clever person and quality poker player, he was controlling his table in his heat until he made an excellent call off the other big stack (he called an all in rereraise preflop for all his chips). He had AJ (urgh you say, but wait! he thought for a while over the call and was right - his opponent held A10) to only be exited stage left by a 10 on the river. He definately can hold it with the best of them and only needs his fair share of the cards to go deep........im having a quid EW on him and muse......... Gl all Jez |

Re: VALUE
Nobody like my joke then...and I was quite proud of it as well.
No seriously Good luck muse and whatever you do make sure you enjoy the experience of playing in a big tournament and don't be to in awe of your opponents and over rate them. Its just a game of cards after all. When do you go ? What is the itinerary and how long do you get to spend in each place? |

Re: VALUE
I got your joke, that was what the...
...was for Its Saturday were off mate, I think jezzas heading out on Friday. Thing is i was one that qualified early so we got arranged flights where as chancer Jez qualified last minute so had to do his own flights (buts gets compensated). Best leave early than be left chasing the ship out of port! Its 9 days and we stop off in 4 places, each for about 8 hours I think. Antigua, Tortola, St Maarten and Labadee (Labadee, la ba dow, labadee laba dow). Although to be honest im not that bothered about stopping off! |
