Correct play? (No, awful play)
Im still playing 0.05/0.10 blinds on 365 even though i have a $300 bankroll as its proving to be so profitable.
So maximum buy in is $10 and i stand with $11, six players at the table, ill name them A-F. I get dealt 5d 7d on small blind. Its called all the way round so i put an extra 5c to see the flop with a six way pot. Flop comes: 2d 2c 4d Player A checks, Player B bets $0.40, Player C calls $0.40, Player D raises to $0.80c, I call 0.80c, Player F folds, Player A folds, Player B then raises all in to $12, Player C folds, Player D raises all in to $14. I think for a second. Pot stands at $23.50 for me and it will cost me another $10.20 to call. I put one of these on the 2 so i gotta be wary of the full house, other prolly has AK and couldnt fold or something similar i reckon. Im getting more than 2/1 for my money here and i reckon im in a good position to call, better than a 2/1 shot i think. I call! Player B turns over 29o Player D turns over 88 Turn beautifally comes 10d and river i cant remember. I take a $33.70 pot after my $10.20 call. I reckon i played this right, one all in and im folding, two all ins and i reckon theres a bit of value in looking for the diamond here, like i said more than 2/1 on my money and i reckon i made the correct play. What do you think? |

Re: Correct play?
Yep i have to agree with alien here the call of the all in is pretty ropey here. You have the odds if you have the nut flush draw on an unpaired board. You have to give one of the players credit for a 2 here therefore they are drawing to a number of cards to leave you drawing dead.
Even your call of the min raise is poor when you call 80c which make the pot $3 so you are getting less than 3 to 1 there when the chances of hitting the flush on the turn are more like 4 to 1. These are things that you have to consider esp in bigger cash games. |

Re: Correct play?
Cheers Alien for clearing that up as i dint know the odds i was getting for my money, i calculated about 1 in 3 but clearly thats not the case.
I realised as said in my post i have to consider the full house as 9d isnt a card i can rely on as it hits a full house for the other guy. I wont make this play in a similar situation in future. Seems i played this completely wrong though but i wasnt expecting someone to oull out 88, more like AK or similar. Aye Mark that original call was pretty poor, seems i got lucky ![]() |
