Late registration: A gift or a curse?
Hi all, it's 7am-ish and I'm still in the game. Bodog were running a beginners tourney at 6am, $1000 GTD only open to people who had registered an account in the last 90 days and the buy in was only $8. When the tournament started there 15 players and the top three were paid (1st was a cool $500), it was too good an opportunity to pass so I bought in thinking it would be over quite quickly. The problem now is the number of players has swollen up to 121 players due to late reg, so it got me thinking. When a tournament offers late reg is it wise to wait until a few levels have gone by to see how many people you will be up against (sometimes if you buy in late you will immediately be in the top half of the tourney) or is it better to sit in from the start at try and hoover in a few chips early? Any thoughts?
(20th at the mo and still a long way to the cash...)
