Re: Any advice on bullying?
Try playing some cash games at low levels. Try 6 seater to 10 seater games and always buy in for the max amount.
I suggest this because it seems as though you have a sound short to mid stack game but not a good big stack game. As for "bullying" - Its really just an idea and not a strategy. You need a plan with 100-150 blinds which differs from short stack poker. Try having a read of Harrington on cash games for some ideas. |

Re: Any advice on bullying?
Thanks for the advice. I think your spot on when you say I haven't got a good big stack game, I always seem to build a healthy stack but I frequently throw away the advantage. I've given the cash games a good go and I'm doing very well on the six seater tables, way more fun than a full ring game as well.

Re: Any advice on bullying?
I know its an old thread, still wanted to lay down my advice.
Don't be bully as there are many of them in the neighborhood and unlike a real neighborhood, bullies don't get together at poker rings. Instead try, to be lurker. Be that unnoticed player who plays it safe and often folds once the flop is set on the table. Wait for the good hands, and check even if you really think you can nail an all in. Eventually someone would try going for the pot dragging other players along the way straight to your trap. I'm no bright poker player and I couldn't care less about odds and probabilities in poker as statistics tend to do two things: balance itself and fail you at the moment of truth. Patience is key to the game as most player would lose it sooner or later, leaving only the serious contenders to deal with. Try it once, it's not easy but it works. |

Re: Any advice on bullying?
Im sorry wlively but thats really poor advice imo. You need to be a bully to win. Aggression pays at the poker table especially if it's held with good firm poker knowledge. I will raise and reraise people late with nothing and why? Because im only raising (and reraising) with hands that don't mind a raise. Why don't i mind a raise? Because im either reraising with fcuk all or with a top 4% hand.
Patience is fundemental but if your game is so 1 dimensional then your never gonna win a poker tournie. Don't raise fold when you have 20bb or less chonky and dont be afraid to put all your chips in. Pick your spots and don't pot commit yourself with 3 bets. Learn when your beat and lay it down. Its all a stack sizing thingy and truth be told once you understand stack sizing you wont really ever put a foot wrong. |

Re: Any advice on bullying?
And the meek will inherit the earth. So says the meek to give themselves something to cling to Barry. Advising someone to "Be that unnoticed player who plays it safe" is the words of a meek passive maybe small winning player. Be the table boss, make people fear you, be confident in what you are doing and make the meek hide in their holes. You not think i can see when a meek player has a big hand? We don't use Holdem Manager and the like for nothing. Go on be a nit, advise folks on what they are doing wrong but it's never gonna win you a poker tournie. I'd have my money on an aggressive player 10x over a meek passive hide in the corner and wait for good hands type player. Just being tight is never gonna win you nothing bar a few bucks at low level.
