Odds To Call?

I have to confess that this is all still a little hazy to me and i think i am making a few mistake. If i have a fair stack i tend to call with any 2 cards if im late in the deal (usually in the sb) if im getting better than 2/1 odds. Maybe there has been an early raiser and a few callers and im getting something like 7/1 to call. Is this something i should be doing? I forget if 2/1 is the magic number for 'any 2 cards can win' or if it's 3/1

also i would tend to call with non dominated trouble type hands. Maybe with 54 suited or not etc. If i had A6 i would probably bin it just to keep myself out of bother.

Can anyone fill in a few of my 'odds to call' gaps? thanks
