Re: Best Site for MTT's
i'm still a newbie to this poker lark and only have ladbrokes, paddy and virgin.
paddy is ok - just registered for their $5 freezeout which starts in 2 mins - used to like the turbo's but they can become addictive and they i lose the plot especially after some real bad beats |

Re: Best Site for MTT's
Turbos aint even poker Kegman im sorry and me and tom sawyer have nearly came to blows about it. If you play turbo's then your not playing poker for the right reasons. Yes it maybe fun to get a big LUCKY stack and go far but your taking out about 60% of the game of poker. It's like having tv dinners to sunday dinners. aye they might be less hassle but your doinbg your poker playing no good in the long run. Maybe its good for you to get used to your M and Q etc but thats the only thing your gonna learn from playing these things. well i suppose you get used to evaluating when to go all in etc but it goes so fast you find yourself calling with AQ after 2 folks are already all-in as you know that the cnuts can be in with just about anything. sorry for sounding so disrespectfull Kegs but turbo tournies are made by the man to get money off the punters that bit quicker. thats all. why play 3 turbos and learn nothing and use no skill when one nicely stacked mtt will do and you can look after every chip and just learn to get deeper and deeper. Harrington On holdem vols 1-2-3 have all really helped my mtt game and as i may have mentioned im getting real deep in tournies with a frightenly high % of the time. All thanks to Action dan. and a of doyle Brunson super sytem and it can make you a well rounded poker player from what i can see.
proise me Kegsa that you will never play another turbo again? you might as well go fire all your money in the roullette machin ein the bookies |

Re: Best Site for MTT's
Turbos are what most SNG pros play. They put extreme pressure on correct hand evaluation for calling/pushing and considerations of buble effects etc. If you know how to do those you have a big advantage over those who don't. Turbos are also over fast enough to help you churn a lot of money. I agree that they don't examine all of your poker skills, as post flop options are pretty limited, but the converse can be said about slow structures - they don't examine cEV vs $EV situations very much - they play pretty similar to cash games.

Re: Best Site for MTT's
Thanks for that insight Doc. Maybe i wont treat them with such disrespect. I suppose 95% of those playing them are just playing them fo the crack cocaine of it all. fcuk i want a shot not. turbo rebuys. maybe i was born to play turbos Doc. Maybe they are good for me learning my afflection (infliction?) points and my M and Q etc. Im away for some as im getting all excited here. I actually slagged rebuys for all my time till i saw how much more money and mugs you where up against. as usual i am hasty and i appreciate being educated.

Re: Best Site for MTT's
Best sites are FullTilt and Pokerstars. Full range of Tourneys every 5 mins. FullTilt even has Knockout tournaments (Bountys). Both sites have loads of traffic.
Your going to need a Passport to withdraw there too though if you get a nice touch. |
