Nicest area of Chiang Mai has to be Soi Chien Kian, up by the university. Check out flora house apptments, very fast connection. It's a couple of miles out of town (you will be glad of that as the pollution in the centre is real bad in may) but you can rent a honda 125 for 50 notes a month.

Cheers Vincent. This thread just looks like another one of my drunken hyper threads but i suppose i do actually want to pursue this. I'm actually coming to Chiang Mai late May now Vincent. I have to im too skint to go anywhere else. Im hoping to sort a place out whilst im there before heading off to Vietnam for 3 weeks. How is it with Visa runs from Chiang Mai Vincent? Is it 30 days or 15 for crossing by land?

Im a bit down about the whole thing truth be told. I dont have the money to go away and my poker profiteering days are over unless i can raise the level of my game. I don't like this playing with scared money and i know it's gonna feel worse when im out there in the heat (fan accomodation no doubt) and with the internet cutting off or a blackout just as i reach my first final table in weeks (not hours)

Gonna stay here initially Vince but i know Chiang Mai is a renters dream. thats why i am going there. No offence but i found Chiang Mai a bit boring when i was there last time. Suppose i aint on holiday though. Just not on the dole/sick in scotland

I wont be about on TDP i suppose Vincent. I see that i am last years men. Suppose i need to move on. Suppose this idea was a silly one. The gap is too big.

Anyhow Vincent i'll be up for a beer if you are. Actually i will probably be back to ask more questions. thanks.

sick house in thailand

Aye they tend to be Jezza. Some of the 2+2 chaps have got the ultimate in sick houses. Rent works out about £150pm each. 2 swimming pols the lot. I dont think this balla house is gonna happen but you never know. I leave for Chiang Mai a week tomorrow. I'll be looking at sorting a place out in 4-5 weeks. Hopefully if my poker goes the way i hope from now till then i'll just get myself a nice big old place. I'll have spare rooms though if anyone wants to give it all up and grind it out like myself.

If you arrive in Thailand by plane you get 30 days. If you enter by land it's only 15.
Ten quid a day if you overstay.

Cheers Vincent. I thought as much. They changed it last year didnt they? Thats not a problem for me mind especially with Air Asia. You can even fly as far as calcutta for £50 return with them. After my first 30 days im flying off to Vietnam for 3 weeks. Then into Singapore from Hanoi. one night there and then i took a flight to Krabi in Thailand. Thats as far as i dare to go the now. I think that takes me up to August. Probably then i'll either be looking at settling or just spending some time before going off elsewhere. If im skint ill stay in asia but if i pick up some bucks ill head to south america.

I was talking to a pal the other day Vincent and he asked if i was going to Pattaya again. I thought about it and the more i thought i realised that i just wanted to jump on that 90 minutes bus to there from the airport (£3) this trip aint about me whoring it though so i did what i belive to be the right thing and booked up my first four nights in Chiang Mai (£21 total I'll be there for the champions league final Vince so if youve got no plans then your more than welcome to show me about that night
