Re: Sit n' Go Double or Nothing
I've played the 6 handed ones, you just play them like you would a 10 man when your down to 6, after all it's the same paying places. Only difference is that in margenal situations where you could be in a coin flip all in, pass it. No point chucking it all to try for first, no point.

Re: Sit n' Go Double or Nothing
I played a $30 game last night, and found that being aggressive seemed to be quite beneficial...Players were ultra tight, which played to my advantage as raising with marginal hands seemed to reap reward particularly when down to around 7 when players started panicking about bubbling and would only play premium hands..

Playing loose against ultra tight can be fruitful when blinds are up, but wouldn't advise starting out loose. Still winning is winning |

Re: Sit n' Go Double or Nothing
I think possibly these double your money stt's are a waste of money, time and effort Rick. I could be wrong but i think the rake kills you on them. Fcuk you'll be earning a pittance an hour. I still think that 10 man tables paying 3 would be better as you can almost fold your way into the money anyhow. Im sure others will agree and disagree with me on them. I tried a couple just for multi tabling practise but truth be told i wont be going near them again.

Re: Sit n' Go Double or Nothing
I have to admit to not having played the 6 handed ones - only the 10 handed ones.
On the 10 handed ones I think it depends on which site you play as to how to approach them. I found the best ones to play were the turbos with 4 min blind levels. On these it was possible to "play a bit of poker" on the first 2-3 levels to pick up some chips which gave a bit of an advantage later when the blinds quickly became big. If i failed to pick up chips early on and lost some it only meant that I was in ALL IN or Fold mode a bit earlier than had I folded all the time. I found that playing with a longer structure of 7 or 8 min blinds the games would usually end up with 6 or 7 players still left and the blinds at 300/600 or 400/800 levels and being left with no choice but to push all in every 6 or 7 hands. |

Re: Sit n' Go Double or Nothing
I watched a video on these and i will try and remember what it said. If you was to go all in early in a tourney then you need to be damn sure your favourite. I think the equity gained means that you need to be a 70/30 fav when going all in earrly doors. Infact you dont really want to be all in at all ever in one of these really. KK+ would be your calling all in range and even then it's marginal. all in pf with AK is bad enough in a sng but a disastor in one of these.
Later its all about blind stealing. It dont matter what you raise with as any decent bubble resppecting player needs a monster hand to call with. blind steal more and call less. |
