Re: Wimbledon Tuesday - 21st June Matches

Murray v Bastl - Murray has the raw attributes to do well on grass, as much as he says its not his preferred surface. Big serve, quick around the court and solid groundstrokes, as well as a big will to win. Will have the crowd right behind him too, and his Queens results show good form. Only question marks are fitness, but that should only factor in later rounds, not in the first. Bastl did beat Sampras, but is in terrible form, and is even more hopeless on grass. A perfect draw for Murray.

3pts @ 1.59 @ Pinnacle

Spadea v Nadal - There will be plenty on Nadal tomorrow, but you have to think that those punters will be backing nothing more than a clay court reputation. Nadal knows he has little chance to win at Wimbledon, and is really just looking to improve his grass court game. He lost in the first round in Halle to Aleksander Waske, and just never looked comfortable. Spadea reached the 4th round at Wimbledon last year, and although he isn't approaching Wimbledon in good form, knows he faces a vulnerable opponent.

0.5pts @ 4.20 @ Pinnacle

Garcia-Lopez v Ferrer - Another story of opposing a poor player rather than backing a good one. Ok, Ferrer isnt a poor player, as his seeding would suggest, but he is a poor grass court player, or atleast thats what the results would show if he ever bothered to try playing on the stuff. Garcia is no world beater either, but is a lot more at home on the surface, and was unlucky to run up against Grosjean and Philipoussis in the last two weeks. Looks good for an 'upset'.

3pts @ 2.10 @ Bet365

Douchevina v Ivanovic - Just a small bet on this one, as there are question marks over Ivanovic on grass. Certainly has potential though. Douchevina looks on form though after winning good matches at Eastbourne, and if she reproduces Ivanovic will have to be special to win.

1pt @ 2.14 @ Pinnacle

Brandi v Schiavone - Possibly bet of the day for me. Brandi leads 2-0 in the H2Hs and 1-0 on grass, and is on great form having won Surbiton(ran into Chakvetadze in Eastbourne.) Has threatened improvement at Wimbledon for years without managing it(retired v Davenport last year) but this could be her big chance. Schiavone lightly practiced on grass and has been getting worse on the surface in recent years by all accounts. Very tempting odds.

3pts @ 1.83 @ Pinnacle

Safarova v Pierce - Another small bet, but has every chance. Pierce is playing well and reached the final at Rolland Garros, but hasn't played much on grass and lost in straight sets to Ruano Pascual in first round last year. maybe her appetite for Grand Slams is saved for the French? Safarova is on great form, reaching the final of 3 of her last 4 tournaments, unlucky to lose to Koukalova last time out. Rising star, but keep stakes small as Pierce has bags of experience on her side.

1pt @ 2.88 @ PaddyPower

Cervanova v Pratt - Cervanova is not on great form, having gone out in the first round of her last two grass court tournaments, but had a decent run here last year, beating Schett and Raymond, before losing to Mauresmo. Pratt not only has a silly name, but also has lost in 7! straight Wimbledon first rounds. Its worth opposing her on that stat alone.

1pt @ 2.75 @ Bet365

Any views much appreciated.

Re: Wimbledon Tuesday - 21st June Matches

goddam karlovic equals world record for aces and loses having been 2-1 up, all others win, was looking sweet if he'd of won 3-2. slight loss on the day instead of a huge profit
