Ireland Gaelic Football and Hurling betting

Really like the look of Monaghan @13/8 to beat Cork. Cork haven't had a pre-season as they opted out of the McGrath cup in order to go on a team bonding holiday to Thailand. This would be a tough fixture for them at the best of times but without match practice I reckon they are very vulnerable. Last season these teams played in the same venue (Scotstown) and Monaghan ran out cosy winners. Cork are also missing Miskella and Canty which will leave them short of experience at the back. Monaghan are a good side and can win this.

Bet of the weekend for me.
Verdict:
Monaghan @13/8

I also think Louth are a solid bet to beat Wexford. We always start the year off well(before turning to shite as soon as the Championship begins) We have a new manager and the team had a good win against Kildare last week. Solid 4/5 shots I think.

Verdict:
Louth @4/5

Re: GAA (Irish Gaelic Football) Sunday 7th Feb

Good luck today Chief

I'm on Waterford @ 21/10 with Boylesports. Betting on Waterford in every league game would have you well in profit the last few years. They travelled to Leitrim yesterday for this match so tiredness should not be an issue. They ahve only played 1 match this year so far where they came within a few minutes of beating all ireland champs Kerry in Killarney only to be denied by 2 late goals. Leitrim's performances in the Connacht league were woeful according to their fans and they are not very hopeful at all for the coming year. Leitrim have lost a few important players to injury and emigration. 21/10 is BIG value on Waterford IMO.

Unlucky chief with Monaghan, made a great comeback from falling way behind early on to lead by a point before eventually losing by 1

Good win for Louth

And Waterford won 0-13 to 0-10, the Waterford money making train off to a winning start

Disappointed with the Monaghan result as they threw it away. Horrible start conceding three goals in the opening ten minutes but they worked their way back into the game and led for much of the second half. Were two points up with a couple of mins to go but three late points by Cork snatched victory for the rebels. 13 wides for Monaghan in the game cost them dear.

Decent opening victory for Louth.

Lovely pick there on Waterford, Irish TW. Great stuff.

Re: GAA (Irish Gaelic Football)

May as well keep all the GAA bets in here I suppose.

Will try Monaghan again this week @11/8
. Obviously there is a big danger of a Galway backlash after last weeks poor showing against Mayo but this is a talented Monaghan team and they have the ability to outplay the tribesmen. It looks like Padraig Joyce isn't going to make it which is good news. Monaghans defence is a bit of a worry, they let in 3 sloppy goals last week and with Michael Meehan in opposition they'll have to make sure they tighten up.

Bit of needle in this match as Joe Kernans old assistant Petyer Grimley is now a coach at Monaghan. Grimley apparently was the brains behind the great Armagh teams in the last decade. Don't think Grimley and Kernan are on the best of terms.

Donegal HT-FT V Laois @4/5- Laois beat an average Tipp side last week but they'll find this weekends game to Donegal a lot harder. Donegal beat Westmeath away from home without any fuss and strolled to a 7 point win. Easy home win.

Ireland Re: Gaelic Football and Hurling betting

This week I'm on Waterford @ 7/4 Ladbrokes (Saturday 2.30 pm) to beat Carlow in football. Waterford have won 2/2 so far with Carlow on 1/2 having lost last week to promotion favourites Limerick. I wasn't expecting such a big price on Waterford. Waterford have one or two players returning from injury and having already won away to Leitrim the trip to Carlow will hold no fears. I see it as a 50-50 match.

Also in hurling I've taken Carlow @ 7/2 Ladbrokes to win away to Antrim. Carlow beat Antrim only last week in the Walsh shield, the losers group of the Walsh cup. Admittedly the league is a different story but 7/2 is a huge price on Carlow who also beat Limerick recently, a bit of a scalp for Carlow despite Limerick's current hurling crisis. Carlow +4 @ 11/10 Paddy Power is also worth a bet.

Also in hurling Dublin are worth a bet at 6/4 to beat a severely understrength Waterford.
