Willie WOod at 150/1 is worth a quid - he's still got what it takes to win this. Cant believe he's longer odds that the like of Hirenda Bhartu at 125/1 (hes no chance)

Bugger, missed that 50/1 on Burnett. Not spoken to the big man for a few months now but my mate was on the blower to him today and he's pretty confident of a good run (but then i guess everyone is eh?!).

Apparently has been playin some nice stuff recently so i'll have a wee nibble at the 33s for a fun bet.

the bookies don't seem to understand that the difference between qualifiers and top 16 etc is paperthin. the likes of Anderson and Burnett are quality players - you don't win the scottish singles and other scottish titles if your not a good player.

all they need is a decent enough draw and to catch the rink.

Anderson in to 20/1 and Burnett into 33/1.

Right, had tenner on Big Bad Burnett @ 34 and £2 on Willie Wood @ 200 pre-tourney.

Burnett got a walkover into round 2 to face 13th seed Gillett, then next up is probably 4th seed Paul Foster... tough, but not impossible.

Wood (who i don't actually know, but going on ur advice BKM) is up against ugly Johnathon Ross, before a probable match-up with top seed Billy Jackson.

Watch bowls on and off and can't think if i've seen Jackson much before, can't remember him impressing me anyway...!!!

Billy Jackson won the title last year - stready bowler but as already mentioned there isn't a lot between these bowlers and with the tie break situ anybody (within reason) could beat anybody.

Willie Wood is in action tonight and I honestly would say this is like a toss coin. I'm sure if he played Jonathon Ross 10 times he would at least win 5..... but Ross underwent laser surgery on his eyes (or eye) last week and he still couldn't see properly on Friday night so it's not ideal prep.

7/4 with Ladbrokes is a 'value' bet imo...... he might not win but in a 2 horse race.....

I play at the same club (outdoor) as Willie btw

i've backed Jackson to beat Bhartu in his next game (threw him in a bet on the barcelona game last night) so

my cousin beat Bhartu in the Hong Kong Masters in November and said the guy wasn't up to much but he's since spoken to WWW and his words are that Bhartu is a dangerous player - however in his last game I believe he drew the shot 3 ends running with his last bowl with 3 against after spreading his other 3 bowls like spreading dung.

Jackson should beat him..... should....

bugger - willie got of to a crap start losing a 3 on the 1st end.

currently 5-2 down but was lying 2 crackers last end before Ross drew shot with last bowl

looks like he's losing st set. got it back to 5-3 and was lying 1 but dropped his 3rd 1 yard short..... should have at least changed the head..... ross trails jack with next and gets 2.

now 7-3 to ross

WWW is lying 2 the 1st end of the 2nd set and they'll not get beat (i hope) so backed him in running at 6/4 to win this set
