Re: GAA 25th / 26th July
In tomorrow's games the one that interests me is Galway v Donegal, Galway were outplayed for most of last week Connacht Final and only came on for a spell towards the end of the game to draw level after scoring 1-04, but then lost out by a point at the very end, overall they were poor enough and having lost that final it will be difficult for them to pick themselves up 6 days later and face into another hard game. Donegal deserved to beat Derry last week and showed that they are a good footballing county, but just seem to blow hot and cold, they are very unpredictable but the word is that all is good now in the camp and they have a bit of momentum from last week.(They should have a good support compared to Galway, for this game in Sligo) I believe they will beat Galway if they play like they did last week, I have had some of, Donegal to win @ 13/8 and a good cut of Donegal +2 @ 4/5 Boylesports
In the other games, I have gone for Kildare, Meath, Offaly and Clare.all a bit obvious maybe ![]() |

Re: GAA 25th / 26th July
Excellent call on Donegal Suir Thing!
A second 1pt loss in a week for Galway. Up the Deise tomorrow! You might also be interested in Waterford u21s @ 11/10 on the Munster u21 outright market with bet365. They are the same odds with Paddy just to win the match and I doubt if either bookie know that Waterford have home advantage for the final. |

Re: GAA 25th / 26th July
Thanks for the U21 tip TW, I'll have a cut at that, not with PP though, would'nt give them the time of day, shower of cnuts, I'm not their type of customer and I was told, 'there is your money now Foxtrot Oscar'....ah sure imagine changing your own name to match your buisness...sad or what!
Todays games, Kerry v Antrim, Kerry coming apart at the seams if you believe the reports, but they are still Kerry and they are only playing Antrim, they have had their summer holidays, I expect them to give a good account, but Kerry should be good enough still to stumble past them, I see no value in this game, although I threw Kerry into my big weekend accum. Dublin v Limerick, This is the game today that interests me from the betting point of view, I was at the first 2 games between Limerick and Waterford, nothing between the teams the first day and we eventually pulled away from them in the second half on the second day, I said we would beat them on here and we did, BUT I went away from them games thinking maybe I had watched 2 poor sides. Limerick went on to play Wexford, based on what I had seen and what I knew about our neighbours Wexford, I tipped up Limerick and they came through..just..but the weather was awful that evening, which made good hurling impossible. Limerick went on to play lowly Laois last weekend, and made heavy weather of beating them, alarm bells were going off at this stage...yes Limerick are shite! they have no game plan, (Justin's tactics, go out and hurl!) they have no outstanding star and the old legs do not seem to last the whole game, the only thing they have is dirt, late pulling, pulling before the ball comes and off the ball antics. Dublin on the other hand have a nice, skilful, pacy bunch of players, they have been on the brink with recent years but now under Anthony Daly they are well organised and gave a very good account of themselves against Killkenny. They are not brilliant, as they only just beat Wexford too, but they are better than Limerick and will be fresh, where Limerick have been on the road 2 weekends in the qualifiers, as long as the referee does his job, Limerick's physical tactics will not work and if the game goes against them you could even see a sending off! Dublin to win evs bet365. They were evs almost everywhere yesterday, but are money on now, they may come out again as this happened yesterday also when Donegal's odds were shortened for a period. |

Re: GAA 25th / 26th July
Regarding UP THE DEISE,
I am not the man maybe to give an opinion on this game as my heart says Deise 4 Ever,my head says different, I have seen alot, I go to league games, I have seen the dark days when Cork used to piss all over us and I have seen the new rising that started in '98, today I feel that I may be going to a wake, but I will travel to roar them on and maybe hopefully I will see the old swashbuckling, showboating hurling as we have become used to. Like I said above I have seen Waterford against Limerick and again in the Munster Final, the Munster Final was over at halftime, Tipp took their foot off the gas in the second half and they let Waterford back into it, the old ghost of the dodgy fullback line is back again and Declan Pender gifted them 2 goals, this is now also a big worry again, Joe Canning could run riot here today. The sparkle has faded out of the Deise as time has caught up with alot of them, Ken McGrath's absence is a huge loss also as there is only one Ken. Just maybe we can pull it off, but this new young Galway team have been getting it together with the past few years and if they win today I will not be surprised, the wheel has turned. I will not have a bet on this game, as I am not confident about my own team Waterford, and I will be at the game and I will not torture myself, win lose or draw I want to enjoy the hurling. I spoke to a friend from Cork and he has backed Galway on the handicap -4, he feels it will be one way traffic, they say that if John Mullane gets tightly marked then thats Waterford without any other options.....If I was to have a bet maybe then I would prefer the Galway - Galway at 4/5 rather than the handicap as I expect us to give them a game, we should be fresh after a weeks extra rest compared to Galway who had a big game last weekend. Anyhow, I will be just watching and shouting..UP THE DEISE! |

Re: GAA 25th / 26th July
My profile might show my bias here, but I'm also travelling, and I am optimistic as the Waterford back line looks ripe for goal picking. Last time out ye had the super star John Mullane as your main threat and Ollie will try to contain him. I met some Kilkenny lads last night and they had nothing but praise for him, but they also reckoned Galway would win through.
The first game will be close as well, but I fancy Dublin, and will be seeing them swinging camáns live for the first time. Limerick people out last night were greatful that they only scraped home against Laois, but were saying that they won the last 60 minutes 20 points to 9 or something. I didn't see that match at all. Des Scahill's show this morning said that Limerick are a different animal in knockout, and that they should play better, but Anthony Daly was bullish about Dublin saying that good performances weren't enough now and Dublin need to be winning these games. I think they will sneak home by maybe one point, but today is a day for going out, getting hoarse, getting wet, and someone on here will have a team in the last 4. After the footballers abysmal show last night (good tip Donegal !) I need cheering up today ![]() |

Re: GAA 25th / 26th July
I'm here !
I'm numb, in shock and don't know what to say. I was down on the 14 yard line where all the action took place, so while I got to enjoy our first half showing all I saw in the second half was the lead being eaten away. The big difference between the teams in the end was that Waterford had a plan B and Galway didn't. We subbed like for like but the subs did nothing. The two Shanahans and Walsh all influenced the game when introduced. I thought that Ollie had John tied up for most of the game but he got some decisions for frees that Kelly scored, so that might have been enough. 1 or 2 I didn't agree with but will look at the match online if I can fit it in around the races ! Without looking like creating a goal we were always leaving the back door open. Humble pie does not taste nice ! |
