Murray at Wimbledon

Nasty MURRAY is seemably looking to count on the support of the spectators to lift him in any close game at Wimbledon .--- Someone should tell him that this has to be earned and deserved.

Re: Murray at Wimbledon

I saw the last set of him playing Seppi in the 1/4s at Nottingham where he lost the plot swearing and throwing his racket when things stopped going his way. Very noticeable how lukewarm the crowd support was

Don't panic ODM, I'm sure he will have suffered an injury by then that prevents him playing!

Re: Murray at Wimbledon

Trouble is, will the strawberrys and pimms brigade appreciate just what a weasel he is. Obviously its not pc to boo him off the court --- before he slinks off-HAVING LOST.
I always wished the beeb (excellent coverage) would keep the cameras off Henmans parents, now we cant avoid being shown how we SHOULD feel by this childs mother!

Re: Murray at Wimbledon

I posted the below in the wrong thread It should have gone in here soz

--------------------- pasted from my other post ----------------------
All right guys,

A rant mainly about henman here. I realise murray seems to have (understandably) pissed off a lot of english tennis fans with his comments in the press. I aint defending him but I have to wonder why henman is seen as such a golden boy by the public.... Doesnt everyone remember a few years back when he wellied a ball girl with a tennis ball hit at about a billion miles an hour - due to his frustration at basically being shit? Of course he apologised afterwards blah blah blah but then again so did murray. I always thought he was a dickhead at the time for doing that and to be quite frank i am always cheering for whoever he is playing against because of it. I cant understand why the crowds are anti someone who said something they disagree with but not anti someone who was violent towards a helpless ball girl. Weird.

Im not anti english at all btw, I aint disliking henman cos of that, I just think hes a wank tbh

Not the biggest fan of Henman either Jez but what happened then was plainly an accident. He smashed the ball into the ground and it bounced up and hit the ball girl. It was also at least 10 years if not more ago. If you're not allowed to be stupid at least once when you're young (as I know I've been and probably even you ) then when can you be?

Its the only sour incident I can remember in a career where he has behaved like a gentleman pretty much throughout. Personally I think if he'd had got angry a bit more often he would have won more.

Re: Murray at Wimbledon

Your right CJ, we've all been stupid before - me many times . And of course we usually regret it later and learn from our mistakes etc. I know what you mean about accidental however he knew fine well what could happen and still did it. Plenty of tennis players and sportsmen etc get angry and mouth off all the time, they dont tend to injure innocent bystanders (or put them into danger through there actions) tho it has to be said. It is the only sour incident I can remember either as well and again your right I should forget about it etc etc. TBH I think thats a personality fault of mine that I havent.

I think what made me post this is the fact wimbledon crowds etc are giving murray a dodgy reception because of something he said, whilst in my eyes what henman did there was worse and he was still a hero at the time etc etc......

Anyway cheers for the reply CJ, spot on as always and im on your tennis tip today as well :drums

Jez

P.S. Henman is still a bottler whos gonna win fcuk all tho

Re: Murray at Wimbledon

I remember Cantona doing a similar thing, wasnt a tennis ball though

Dubious intention issues there as well imo.

Its funny looking at the peoples faces in the crowd there. The guy in the top left looks like hes seen it all before back in the day, compared to the 2 guys directly to his right who show genuine suprise. Theres a posh pervy looking guy in the top right whos going 'OH I SAAAAY!' The guy in the leather jacket below him is protecting himself incase Cantona goes for him as well I think.

Oh and the Bjorkman games tomorrow Jez
