Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

Odds from Ladbrokes:

Panathinaikos-Olympiakos 1.20 21.00 17.00
Panathinaikos(-9)-Olympiakos 1.90 15.00 1.90
Marousi-Aris 1.66 15.00 2.20
Marousi(-3)-Aris 1.90 15.00 1.90

Third match of the matches raw and I believe we're gonna have the Greek Champion today! Both matches start at 17:00 (UK Time).

Panathinaikos can only do what they have been used to all these 9 last years! Win the championship! If they win today, the Greens, will show their domination in Greece with an impressive way! They will become the first team to win the championship without a loss in the final fase (2-0 vs Panionios and 3-0 vs Aris)! 20.000 fans will be on the Greens' side and the trophy will be there for them too! So I can only choose Panathinaikos(-9)@1.90 in that party-match.

On the other match I don't think that Aris can be as bad as in the first one in Marousi's home. It's gonna be a derby imo and I believe that Aris has the quality to do the break and take tha advantage from Marousi. So I'll be on Aris@2.20 on this game.

So my props for today's matches are Panathinaikos(-9)@1.90 8/10 and Aris@2.20 5/10

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

Cheers,

I'm agree on Aris. In first game they lost 74-59, they'have missed 12FT, so lets say they lost 74:71 In second game they've showed all their power and won 84:54. Marousi is too small for Euroleague, they must have at least 5 000 arena ( from 2008 arena must be at least 7000 ). As I know Marousi have 2000 arena. Aris played in ULEB few times, so they're known and will get that Euroleague spot.

Pana - Oly. Don't lose your bet just coz u're pana fan Do u saw last game? The key was in the end of 4th period. It was equal game and Kazlauskas replace T.Edney to I.Koljevic. Thats why they go down from -3 to -11. First game 82:76 and u must agree that was a close game. I'm waiting for same game play. As I mentioned in last game Oly is playing much better when they're underdogs. I'll give +10/+15 in first half for Pana, but Oly will fight till the end so I'm waiting +4/+6 for greens. +8 in the final crucial game is too high. I hope green fans will bet on one side,so i'll wait till kick off, maybe I'll get +9.5
Ladbrokes is offering 17 for Oly win? OMG! I'm opening account in Lad just for these juicy odds. Bookies is giving 83% (1.2 odds). Imo Pana is 70% to win this game. Poore value for me.
So I'm taking Aris ML and will wait till all green fans and hole public will make their bets. I'll get better handicap and maybe ML.
3:1 Pana will win finals
Good luck with your picks

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

Good work Isovitis as usual .
Both picks look reasonable.
Panathinaikos probably will cover the handicap in front of the fans in this kind of fiesta game. Also simple Panathinaikos win ,without the handicap, looks a solid bet, for combos or single.
As for Aris I expect them to make an away win and take a Euroleague spot.
Probably this will come now, still live betting can be an option in this game.
And of course yomayo, Aris basketball team is very well known in Europe from the great team at the 80's with Galis, Giannakis (now coach of Marousi), etc.

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

Well maybe I was too optimistic for 3:1, so just my 2 cents on Oly win with odds 17 from Ladbrokes.
Pinnacle is offering +10 for Oly, I'm waiting for 5-6 points win,so I'll try Oly with handicap.
Pana - Oly +10 @1.99 4/10 pinnacle
Pana - Oly 2@17 0.5/10 Lad

Our nordicbet is giving +4.5 for Aris (+2.5/+3 in the market) so I'll take it.
Marousi -Aris +4.5 @1.85 5/10
Marousi - Aris 2@2.40 Nordicbet 2/10
Aris over 65.5 @1.85 sporting bet 2/10

Good luck

Nice one yomayo, Nick Galis has been an outstanding basketball player.

I consider myself very lucky as I have watched him playing for Aris for 10 golden years.

Predictions for today's games in a while.

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

imo panathinaikos will win easy that game. i'm quite sure that they will play very fanatic in a try to crash Olympiakos as a revense for their biggest lost in the modern history (35 points of difference).everything depend on the first half and how the score will be.olympiakos is in very bad psychology and if they are not close in the score i'm waiting...wild things tonight.Anyway, i think 9,5 points will be covered easily.
for the other game i'm expected a better Aris today.Imo Aris will win the series but i don't know if they ll do the break tonight.seems easier to do it in the last game with half of the fans in his side and with an exhausted Marousi. I think Marousi will win today.

As you realise there could not be Olympiakos win @ 17 . There has been some mistake obviously. Best price I can see for an Olympiakos win is offered by worldbet @ 5.3.

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

I consider it rather unwise to bet on Olympiakos if you consider that Panathinaikos has an excellent series of homewins (more than 50 in a row including play-off games).

I agree with Nasos that it will be extremely difficult for Olympiakos players with more 20,000 Pao fans on their necks, 2-0 down already. However I am unsure about the fiesta that Pao fans are expecting.

In situations like this, an athlete tries to rise to the occasion so that he can save his pride. Although it's a tough call, I expect that this is the most probable outcome for tonight's game. Pao is the better team but Olympiakos players will do their best, they have shown real progress in the first game and I believe they possess the necessary quality and egoism so that they don't get thrashed.

Going against the tide here, my pick is Olympiakos +9.5 (3/10)

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

For the Marousi-Aris game, I have not much to say as my position is rather biased and the two teams showed great incosistency recently. Hope Aris wins it but I would not put any money on it to be honest.

What should be OK however, is the overs at the final Panathinaikos vs Olympiakos.
Olympiakos showed real problems offensively against organised defence and will want to be on the break as often as possible.
Panathinaikos in his home court is also very quick so high score should be on the book tonight.

My pick: Panathinaikos vs Olympiakos Over 156.5 @ 1.92 (4/10)

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

OMG!
I drunk too much yesterday! I wrote the whole thread to the wrong section and I also wrote Olympiakos win@17.00 ???? WTF???? The real price on Ladbrokes is 4.20...

I have to for a little I think...!

As for Panathinaikos today I believe that if everything goes as I have in mind the final point difference will be even more than 20 points... That's the difference of the two teams in this moment after all. I lost the previous bet because I didn't belive in my team I won't loose it this time too...

Re: Greek Basketball Playoffs: 7th June

Nice work beefcakes, I've decided to back over 156.5 a la galilee.
Seems there's a bit of a difference of opinion with the handicap, Iso has been on fire it has to be said hence it's hard to go against him but he is only human afterall (I think) so I'll leave that alone.
