Nascar - Subway Fresh Fit 500 (Phoenix)

I have set myself a tough challenge as with no previous to go on this week, the Phoenix triangle shaped flat track creates a different set of challenges for the drivers (and us punters). More info will be gleaned from Thursday's practice sessions, but I will
put up the following who I expect to go well here. Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick. Will give my final thoughts later in the week, but would look at backing JJ @ 7/1 or better. Hamlin @ 8/1 or better and Harvick at 12/1 or better

Anyone with a BWIN account can get the 8/1 suggested for Denny Hamlin (best form on Flat tracks like Phoenix) and a very tasty 14/1 Kevin Harvick (currently the most consistent driver in Nascar, who's best stats show up on flat tracks like Phoenix,Richmond and New Hampshire)

Re: Nascar - Subway Fresh Fit 500 (Phoenix)

Well not a great deal could be gleaned from last night's 1st Practice session and Qualifying, so will look for tonights all important Final Practices to make my final decision.
Based on last night I would have to say Jimmie Johnson is going to be tough to beat, and would throw in Carl Edwards, who yet again looks to have a decent looking car. Would suggest a sneaky bet on Ryan Newman e/w with SJ who have not taken into account last nights action in which he was the fastest in both Practice and Qualifying. 30/1 is far to big on a driver who will be half that price (and had a decent 5th place here in the last race held)

Re: Nascar - Subway Fresh Fit 500 (Phoenix)

Well after 2 from 2 so far I am no doubt heading for a fall, but after analysis of the Sessions so far, I will go with the following

*** Jimmie Johnson (11/2 with BSQ). Has dominated practice, and appears to be the man to beat. Barring accidents, feel that he is a penalty kick to at least finish top 4. His record in event's that run into changing conditions (this will start in daylight and end in the cooling Desert night), is 2nd to none.

** Greg Biffle (16/1 general)
* Carl Edwards - hopefully when others go up they will be better then 6/1 - Would only take 7/1 or better

Of the others who will be in contention, Kyle Busch,Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick will need to show a little more then they did in practice (so have kept them out of my Top 3). Would pass a good word on for Martin Truex 33/1 and Ryan Newman 25/1 who are way way overpriced and could be worth taking with 1st 4 books.
PS - you will not find any of these tasy prices with me

Re: Nascar - Subway Fresh Fit 500 (Phoenix)

We have a week off from the Nascar, with the next event taking place at the fastest and wildest race track they have.
With Daytona to help, we can see what happened in the big race to see who can win at Talladega. I know the best car did not win that night, so have a very strong fancy lined up.
Hopefully we can make it four from four.
