Season opener for both teams.
Buffalo lost Dainel Briere and Chris Drury via free agency but this team still has a lot of offensive power.That means more time on ice for Stafford,Paille,Roy and Afinogenov.
NY Islanders made some bad moves in offseason.Too many good players left and replaced with some veterans like Comrie,Guerrin,Fedotenko.In my rankings they are the worst team in Eastern Conference.

These two played 9 matches last season.Buffalo won 7,NY Islanders only 2.

If this match was played later in season I would go BIG on Buffalo but as season opener I'm giong with medium stake bet on Buffalo -0.5 @ 1.87 at Pinnacle.

Chicago-Detroit

Curse,bad luck,...call it what you want but Martin Havlat is injured again.Despite being limited to 56 games last season, the 26-year-old Havlat led Chicago in scoring with 57 points.How is Chicago playing without him:BAD,VERY BAD.Ok this season they have good cover for Havlat,former Detroit player Robert Lang(19 g, 33 a last season) but it's easy to play along Holmstrom,Zetteberg and Datsyuk.OK I don't sau that Chicago is that bad,they have better team this season.
On the other side Detroit is still very strong team.I'm little concernd for their defence because of their age.But they will repeat their last season figures and at least go to Western semi-finals.
This game will be a lot emotional game for Chicago because William Wirtz, the longtime owner of the Blackhawks, died on Sept. 26 at age 77.
Last season Detroit won seven of eight meetings against the Blackhawks, with the only loss coming in a shootout at the United Center. The Wings outscored the Blackhawks 32-13 in those seven wins.
