Well after last week I am not sure where to start, but surely this is the week for the Raiders to open their account for the season - although whether I'd put money on it is another matter

I seem to be tempted by a lot of the teams that let me down last week, so I better tread carefully.

Shit those odds look a bit of a mess - if you want to post a different set of odds Sponger I will copy them up here and delete this eyesore. Although, I guess as it's only me, you and Cains it doesn't really matter.

I like the saints on Monday.. At home for the first time in their dome.. Gonna show the home crowd, and public since its monday night, that they are not as awful as the record shows right now.. 10points win at least...

Eagles vs lions.. Well i told my self sunday that i would NEVER bet on eagles again this season.. But 0-2 at home... vs Lions that problably never has gone 3-0. Lions been lucky with the mediocore/bad teams they played so far.. (sorry raiders fans. )

Also fancy steelers vs 49ers.. But cant figure out if the line is correct or now.. 49ers will loose for sure.. But cant find out if the defence will keep steelers down in scores... Maybe steelers + Over in parley.. and 49ers + Under in parlay.. I think one of them will win

I hope you're right about the Saints as my fantasy team is stuffed with them and if they don't do anything this week they are really in serious trouble.

Week Three in the NFL sees a number of teams putting promising starts to the new campaign on the line.

Perhaps none more so than Houston when they host reigning world champions Indianapolis.

The Texans have notched impressive wins over Kansas and Carolina so far with new starting quarterback Matt Schaub beginning to make a real name for himself.

He efficiently brought his side back from two scores down at the Panthers last week, as Gary Kubiak's outfit calmly put 31 unanswered points on the board on the way to a 34-21 road victory.

But Kubiak admitted: "We are doing better things but we still need to improve a lot of things to be a good football team."

Facing the Colts will be an accurate gauge of how far they have come.

And they will be facing a Colts team that just scraped a 22-20 win in Tennessee last week after their defence came up trumps late in the day to halt the Titans as they moved down the field towards field goal range and a possible game-winning kick.

QB Peyton Manning's offence did not fire on all cylinders by any means in Nashville and you can be sure that they will have been working hard during practice to get one of the league's most potent scoring machines back on track.

There is no question that Houston are moving in the right direction and Kubiak is an excellent young coach but they look set for a reality check in this one, particularly with Schaub's top target Andre Johnson ruled out with a knee injury.

I thought the handicap would be nearly double figures but the visitors have to give up just 5.5 points (5/6 at Ladbrokes) and that looks generous.

Sky's late game on Sunday sees Dallas put their unbeaten credentials on the line at Chicago in a fascinating clash.

The Cowboys lead the league in total points with 82 so far and a similar flurry against last season's Super Bowl runner's-up would undoubtedly confirm them as the best team in the NFC at this early stage.

But the Bears' fifth-ranked defensive unit might have something to say about that and they are sure to put up a much better stand compared to the Giants and the Dolphins.

Cleveland and Cincinnati were involved in an extraordinary match last week and they both travel to the west coast to take on Oakland and Seattle respectively.

The Browns prevailed 51-45 with QB Derek Anderson tossing five TD passes and RB Jamal Lewis rushing for 216 yards - an amazing turnaround after an abject effort in week one against Pittsburgh.

It will be interesting to see what they produce at an Oakland side who themselves have shown signs of improvement and were unfortunate not to beat Denver last week.

The stunned Bengals will try to get back on track at the Seahawks, who suffered a last-gasp defeat of their own against Arizona.

They have not looked particularly fluent as reigning NFC West champions and could have trouble containing QB Carson Palmer and WR Chad Johnson.

Getting an angle in terms of punting on those games looks tricky so it might be prudent to just stick with the Colts, who can do the business on the handicap in Texas.
